You can start FreeWrite on your Palm Handheld by tapping the FreeWrite icon in the Hi-CE program category. When you HotSync your handheld, the documents are copied to the computer. To view your documents, open the FreeWrite folder in the Hi-CE folder and double-click on "View your Documents.html". (The Hi-CE folder is installed on the desktop by default.) C. GENERAL FREEWRITE INFORMATION ================================ FreeWrite is a complete word processing program that will be integrated into the Hi-Ce suite of educational programs. Besides the basic word processor features, advanced features such as Auto-capitalization, spell checking, and the duplicate command help make it easier for any user. The educational environment will find that students can use this program to create professional-looking documents. Students may also use the infrared capabilities of the Palm handheld and share documents with others. Whether you wish to take notes, write journal entries, or write full reports, FreeWrite will do the job. D. PROBLEMS FIXED FROM VERSION 1.0, 1.1R, 1.1.1R, 1.4.0, and 1.4.2 ================================================================== Deleted documents occasionally appeared as invalid documents on the desktop. Renaming document with the same name will not save recent changes to the document. Beaming selected text to another Palm Handheld will cause an odd character to replace the 43rd character. Beaming into current document errors while the keyboard or Graffiti Help is open. Tapping the Home Palm Application button while the Open or Duplicate dialog box is open creates a corrupted document. The Macintosh installer 1.1R did not correctly install the files necessary for the conduit to work. You will experience errors when you HotSync. Uninstall Version 1.1R of FreeWrite and download and install the new Version 1.1.1R of FreeWrite and you should not experience any problems as long as you install to the default desktop directory. Sorry for any trouble this may cause. FreeWrite can now be installed to any directory on your hard drive. E. ADDITIONS TO THIS VERSION ============================ Improved Conduits with faster HoySync Your Data is now backed up Find Feature F. KNOWN ISSUES =============== No currently known problems. G.
