This command is used to apply a special effect to a model during the rendering process.
It is important to note that the appearance of a model in the bounding box modes of the Animation module does not show the special effects. Effects are only visible when a wireframe is rendered.
Special effects deform the vertices of a costume or cause certain faces of a costume to disappear. Because these effects occur at the costume level, the position, rotation and scaling timelines are completely independent. However, the effect on the rendered animation is very dependent on the design of the model that the Actor is using as its costume. The number and size of triangular faces used are the most important factors in special effects. However, the order in which faces were created in the Designer can strongly influence the 'building' effects. Effects such as the waves rely on having enough vertices to show an effect. For example you can not see a wave passing through a rectangle consisting of two triangles. Subdividing the rectangle to at least 1000 faces will allow the effect to show to its full potential.
Effects may also be added or changed by editing a model's costume timeline in the Keyframer module.
