Separate Polygons

Breaks selected faces into separate individual pieces.

Normally model faces are part of a polyface network, two faces could have a common edge and several might have a common vertex. This action breaks faces into individual pieces. After the action, each face will have 3 separate edges and 3 separate vertices. No face will have a common edge or vertex. The new vertices will be at the same coordinate as the original so the model will not look different until the faces are moved.

To animate a model exploding into pieces, execute the Separate Polygons action first before executing the Explode Polygons action.

Note that Phong smoothing is not applicable because the faces are now separate entities.
