KBMAP ~~~~~ This utility will allow you to create or edit a BOOTITNG.KBM file. The BOOTITNG.KBM file is used by BootIt NG 1.17+ to change the mapping of keys on a keyboard. For example, if you have a AZERTY keyboard and pressing 'A' in BootIt NG yields 'Q' then, using this utility, you can change it so that 'A' yields 'A'. Version 2 of this utility (BootIt NG 1.63+) allows mapping by ASCII code instead of Scan Code. This allows a high level of control over the return values for each keystroke. INSTALLATION: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Simply copy the KBMAP.EXE file to some directory on your hard drive. USE: ~~~~ When you run KBMAP it will load existing mappings from BOOTITNG.KBM if it exists in the 'current directory'. To remap a key: Type the key you want to change then type a key that produces the correct character for that key. Press F5 to test what character a key generates when mapped. Press F7 to test what character a key generates when not mapped. INSTALLATION of BOOTITNG.KBM for use with BootIt NG: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Method 1 -------- 1) Create the BootIt NG installation diskette. 2) Copy the BOOTITNG.KBM to the BootIt NG installation diskette. 3) Install/Reinstall/Upgrade BootIt NG from that diskette.
