  by operating system.

  For OS/2 user, following diskettes are needed:
    - Utility Diskette for OS/2

What This Diskette Does
-----------------------
The Utility Diskette for OS/2 provides the following utility programs
for OS/2:
 - ThinkPad Features program (setup program)
 - Fuel-Gauge program

 - (Fix)  The DMA button is always properly unselectable in EPP mode.
 - (Fix)  An incorrect conflict error no longer occurs when
          Sound Blaster is disabled.
 - (Fix)  The installation program displays a warning message
          if a more recent version program has been already installed.
 - (Fix)  The PCI-IDE bus master driver no longer causes
          a data corruption on any hard disk drive.
 - (Fix)  The installation program installs the Personalization Editor
          as a program for the WIN-OS2 full screen.
 - (Fix)  The installation program now properly recognizes
          the space character in a response file in CID installation.

 - (Fix)  The installation program checks the OS/2 major versions only.
 - (Fix)  Even if an unexpected PCI adapter card is installed,
          a system error no longer occurs.
 - (Fix)  The resources of the multi-function PCI adapter card
          is displayed correctly.
 - (Fix)  (For ESS model only)
          An ISA adapter card using a 330-333 I/O address
          works properly.
 - (Fix)  When an external video card is installed, the display advanced
          setup no longer reports an error.
 - (Fix)  512 characters per line can be handled by the ESS
          audio setting.
 - (Fix)  An incorrect warning message is no longer displayed even if
          56Hz is selected in 800x600/64K.


Installation Guide
------------------
(For OS/2)
  1. Start OS/2; then insert the Utility Diskette for OS/2 into
     the diskette drive.

  2. Install the ThinkPad System Management device driver as follows:

   (a) Open the System Setup folder in the OS/2 System folder.
   (b) Select Device Driver Install and click on the Install...
       button.
   (c) Click on ThinkPad System Management Device Driver;
       then click on OK.

  3. Open the OS/2 screen command prompt.

  4. Type A:’INSTALL2 and press Enter.

  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
