FreePPP Kit for the Macintosh Note: please disable your virus protection software before running this installer. You could also restart your Macintosh with extensions off by restarting and holding down the key until you see the words ³Extensions off.² This installer was created by the University of HawaiŒi¹s (UH) Information Technology Services (ITS) group. It will install FreePPP and some network clients onto your hard drive with customizations for UH users*. The FreePPP software allows you to connect to the Internet via a modem and use network clients such as Telnet. *The customizations are intended for users of the ITS modem pool (956-5080). Outer island campus users should check with their own network/computer specialists for any necessary changes. As of 9/3/96, a second phone number, 979-2400, is available. This new phone number supports modem speeds of up to 28.8 bps. To use this installer, you need to have a Macintosh with a 68020 processor or better, and System 7.1 or higher. If you have an older Macintosh with a 68000 processor or are using a system version lower than 7.1, please use the PPP Kit (with MacPPP) instead.
