How many books will there be?

From a public letter from RJ to his fans, posted on the Tor Web page in May, 1996:
"A number of e-mail letters have asked how many books the Wheel will contain altogether. There will be at least ten. I do not know the final number. I know the final scene of the final book--I have known where the tale is going since before I started writing The Eye of the World--but I don't see clearly yet every bend and curve in the road from here to there. So the best answer is, there will be some more books. A few. Not too many."
