Nynaeve's block

Nynaeve is blocked because she is afraid of the OP. When she is angry she forgets to be afraid and thus can channel. In TSR: Veils REF?, Moghedien puts El and Ny under compulsion. At one point, she says to Ny, "You might become something one day. But you've blocked yourself, haven't you? We would have had that out of you though you howled for it." Nynaeve then says, "I'm afraid of it...all that power...the One Power...how can I?"

It seems likely that many channelers who are blocked are blocked because they are afraid of the OP. Each individual has a different "key" to the block. For Theodrin(?), it was men--she only felt comfortable, relaxed, or whatever enough to channel when she was around men. The AS got a girl to dress up as a man, and sit in class, until Theodrin was comfortable enough with channeling that her teachers thought it was time to reveal the trick. In Ny's case, the block is anger. When her feelings of anger overcome her fear, she is able to channel. The AS have been working on the key to the block, namely her temper. The suggestions on r.a.sf.w.r-j for ways to get over it are nearly as varied as the ways the AS in LOC suggest, and are way too varied to list here. A different suggestion (not key-based, but based on the root) is that Ny needs to get over being afraid of the OP.
