Eligibility: Grade 8 students enrolled in UCS Math 8, Algebra I or higher, and grade-level English.

Description: The Utica Center for Science and Industry (UCSI) merges rigorous academic content and relevant, real world application of this knowledge. UCSI makes use of its strong relationships with business, industry and post-secondary partners to provide UCSI students with the skills necessary to be successful in a global workplace. UCSI is a 9th to 12th grade program that integrates English and Math into the following three programs:

How do I submit the application?

  1. Once available, click on the application link above.
  2. Fill out electronic application.
  3. Click on the “Submit” button.
  4. *IMPORTANT You will receive an email response confirming your application and its contents. Follow the instructions, print, sign and submit that form to complete the application.

Portfolio Option

In addition to the application and entrance testing, interested students who feel the need to further illustrate their qualifications for the UCSI program may choose to submit a portfolio on the day of testing. This portfolio may be printed on paper or in digital format.

Printed portfolio: Cover page with your name and home school, Table of Contents, documentation of activities/projects/skills related to UCSI.*
Digital portfolios: A flash drive, inside an envelope labeled with your name and home school. One file on the flash drive must be labeled "Table of Contents" to help the screening committee navigate your documentation of activities/projects/skills related to UCSI.*

*This documentation may include things such as photos or videos of activities or student work, and written statements of UCSI related activities or events.

This is NOT A REQUIREMENT for APPLICATION OR ADMISSION but portfolios may be considered as a part of the screening process.
