Interleave: The interleave factor of your GCC hard disk affects its performance. To change the interleave value the drive must be reformatted. The lower the interleave factor is, the faster data can be transferred between the drive and your computer. If the interleave factor is too low, the computer will not be able to keep up with the hard disk and performance will be very poor. The interleave values suggested by the DriveManager give optimal performance with the hardware configuration you have. You may want to change the interleave if your GCC hard disk will be used with different models of Macintosh (or Apple II).
