If you are upgrading from a version previous to 5, please uninstall your existing version before installing beta 6.
Beta 6 Known Issues
There are a few known issues that could cause problems. Firstly you can import any section from an INI right down to an individual unit. However, this will only import that unit and not any weapons assigned to it. This will be fixed in a future version. The text editor window is very basic and has no search facility. This will be fixed in a future version, I need to get hold of a decent memo control that has all the features I want. I have a few in mind, but I need to test them before I buy one. (Another benefit of registering!! - It means I can buy better controls for use in SunEdit 2K, making it better for you!!)
The changes browser still only worked for Infantry, this has been removed, as it was causing too many support questions. This whole section is going to be re-written, so please just bear with us on this one.
Ok, so you now have the power to change anything in the Rules.INI via the text editor sections. HOWEVER, doing this can cause Tiberian Sun to crash horribly. I suggest you take a look at our support section (this is currently down, but it will be updated very soon with a guide to editing the INI by hand, using SunEdit 2K).
I have also heard of problems download SE2K in that it aborts at various points during the download. This has been traced down to the ISP you are on. I suggest that you shout at them. Seriously though, the UK and USA sites support resuming downloads so I suggest you get hold of Go!Zilla (Click on the banner below), this lets you resume the download.
Lastly, we do have a support message board, if you have any questions about anything to do with SE2K and Tiberian Sun Editing, please drop by. There is a link to it from the On-Line menu, within SunEdit 2K.
Thanks

Ok, these are the changes from 5.5.6 to 6
Added pick lists, replacing menus for selecting weapons, prerequisites etc..
Added Mod Maker Wizard, this allows you to create your own MIX files & mods.
Added support for Firestorm
Other tweaks & minor bug fixes (Sorry, If forgot to keep a list of the stuff I had changed)
Ok, these are the changes from 5.5 to 5.5.6
Fixed bug on New Object Window where the wrong image could be assigned (i.e Structure to Infantry). This would then cause a nasty error when viewing the unit
Fixed bug where custom images could get "lost" between save and loading
Fixed bug where integer properties (i.e. speed, sight etc..) that had comments after them would not get imported
Added check for floating point values where integers should be. If found the float is converted to an integer
Increased number of decimal points for lighting on Structure window
The main window is now disabled when you Open / Save / Compile / Run TS
Added "Move To Shroud" To Vehicles <Cheers erupt from the audience>
Removed Tiberium Proof, Infiltrates & Tiberian Heal from Structures. Can you have a structure that infiltrates? No, we didn't think so either! (DOH!)
Added current veteran cap property information to Infantry, Structures and Vehicles windows.
Added Un-sellable and Repairable <Cheers erupt again>
Fixed bug where airburst weapons were not being read in
The cancel button is now hidden during compile (it didn't work anyway)
Added Ambient Damage to Weapons (Used with Rail Guns) <The crowd goes wild>
It now reads in unused weapons and projectiles.
The "Edit INI In Text Editor" option has been temporarily hidden. This is due to the fact that it edits the rules.INI file in the TS folder, not the current settings in SE2K. This is going to confuse too many people. If you want this option, start SE2K with the switch of '-SHOWEDITINI', i.e. SE2K.EXE -SHOWEDITINI
Ok, these are the changes from Beta 5 to Beta 5.5
Ability to edit all of the rules.INI settings (Off the settings menu, "Edit Using INI Text Editor")
Ability to import all of the rules.INI settings
Support for custom Images for units & structures (this means that together with an Art.INI you can use the hidden units in TS)
Added Particle Systems & Animation List properties to Warheads
Added Report, Animation and Particle Systems to Weapons
Added Default New Object Identifiers. These are the prefixes to any new objects created in the program. Instead of being called SE2K0001, SE2K0002, the new objects are now named according to their type. The prefixes are changeable.
Added Full colour toolbar option. This can make the toolbar buttons stand out better on certain textures (Preferences->Toolbar Settings)
Fixed a number of bugs in the program
Added Optimised INI compile. This basically compresses the information within the rules.INI and results in an INI roughly 40kb smaller than the standard rules.INI
You can now Save your settings.
When settings are read into SE2K a full validation is performed on the settings to ensure they will not cause problems either in SE2K or Tiberian Sun
Bug reports are now request more information if a Tiberian Sun crash was detected. Any attachments are also zipped up before sending. (This should help my hard disk, more than you, the user!! ;-p)
