What does Bismuth want at the statue?

There are some clues around here.

Look at the display on the far end of the museum, just next to where Bismuth
is standing.

Hint 3 of 16:
He wants a clean start.

Hint 4 of 16:
Experiment with the device in the same room as Bismuth.  This is the way you
can give him a clean start.

Hint 5 of 16:
You can press the yellow button to make the device display a few pre-formed
shapes, and you can press the green button to give Bismuth your results.

Hint 6 of 16:
Notice what happens when you move one piece on the device on top of another.

The intersection of two black pieces is white.

Hint 8 of 16:
Remember he wants a clean start.

So you want to print a blank piece of paper for him.  Trial and error should
eventually give you the solution, but if you want an eact solution, read
ahead.

I recommend starting from the square -- none of the pieces are overlapping in
this configuration.
