As has been mentioned before, we are always looking at ways of making RISC World better value for the reader. Our latest innovation is our all new competition page, offering you the chance to win some good prizes every time. As with others, this column is on probation so if you wish for it to appear in RISC World again don't forget to send in your entry.

Print Artist: Masterclips 202,000

The Print Artist: Masterclips collection includes near enough 200,000 productivity resources for use by designers and publishers. From vector-based clipart through photographs; animations through noises there's something in this pack for all publishers whether print or multimedia based.

It's priced at £29.95 and available in the shops now, but to get one of three copies for yourself free simply enter our competition! So how do you win a copy? Simple we want you to design an animated GIF, it can be of anything you like (as long as we can publish it of course). Aaron will be judging the competition and anything that makes him laugh is more likely to win.

Of course it doesn't have to be a badly animated photo (cheers mate - ED), it could be a logo, a little cartoon, or indeed anything. We are looking for originality, design and overall effectiveness. Email editor@riscworld.co.uk, attaching your GIF file in an Archive (ArcFS, SparkFS, WinZip) for a chance to win! (And if no one enters I will be most distressed - ED).

Superior Collection

The first game to be launched for the Archimedes was back in 1987. The company that did the launch, Superior Software, would subsequently release well over twenty top titles for our favourite computer. This new CD-ROM from ProAction charts those titles, including the vast majority of them and some other exclusive material.

It's priced at £29.95 and available in the shops now, but to get one of three copies for yourself free simply answer this question. Email editor@riscworld.co.uk, placing the answer in the subject field and your address in the body - this allows us to only view the correct answers.

The first full commercial game for the Archimedes launched in 1987, at the same time as the computer itself. What was it called?

  • A. Lander
  • B. Zarch
  • C. Bug Hunter

Good luck with that - for further information on the Superior CD collection, view the R-Comp Interactive website at www.rcomp.co.uk.

RULES: Staff of RISC World, Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing, ProAction Software and anybody involved with this promotion may not enter. The editor's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. There is no cash alternative to any of the prizes on offer. If you wish to enter both competitions, send separate emails for each. Winners names will be published within the editorial of the next issue. The closing date is 21st June 2001 - all entries arriving after that date will be destroyed.
