Mr. Resistor ------------------------------------------------------------ Written in Microsoft QuickBasic 4.5 If you are a ham radio buff, electronics student or electronic's hobbiest, Mr. Resistor can help. Just where did you place that old "thumbwheel" resistor color guide? Mr. Resistor is a simple electronic replacement. REQUIREMENTS: - Any PC compatable with VGA color - A mouse, with it's associated driver loaded RUNNING PROGRAM: - Can reside on floppy disk or your hard drive - Just type MRESISTR then press ENTER MENUS: - To acticate menus HOLD the LEFT button down until you are over the menu choice you want, then RELEASE the button. - Control plus the first menu letter will do the same. - To change colors of the resistor, place the mouse on the color band you want and click the left button to assend in value, the right button to cycle in desending values. - You may also click the mouse buttons in the associated text box for the band values and achieve the same results. QUITING: - Choose the Quit option from the menus or CONTROL + BREAK or CONTROL + C will work. I first wrote Mr. Resistor for my former computer an ATARI ST and now that I now joined the PC compatable world, I chose QuickBasic 4.5 to easily port it over. Mr. Resistor is in the public domain and I take no responsibilty for it's accuracy and take no responsibilty for damage resulting from the use or misuse of this program. Feel free to copy it, give it to friends or whatever. With surface mount technology it appears that fewer and fewer carbon composition resistors, as we are used to, are being seen. Nonetheless Mr. Resistor can come in handy for the ones that are around. Enjoy Gary Rennie 9124 E. Glencove Mesa, Arizona KC8BN Feb. 29, 1992
