May 95 Review No.: 34 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Blue Hell Game: Doom 2 Filename: MKBLUHEL.ZIP Size: 105k Author: Mark Anthony Klem e-mail: mark.klem@swcbbs.com Maps: MAP01 Type: normal/deathmatch level Sounds: yes, weapons Graphics: yes, walls Music: yes [ Level construction ] ---------------------------------------------- The whole level is symmetrically constructed, made for deathmatch, I think. The author used a few special-tricks, sometimes your are wondering where you are, it's amazing! Rooms are changing from one moment to another, monsters are attacking you and you just wonder what happend. Great thing. Sadly the level is kinda small, but this is better for deathmatch games though. [ Texture design ] -------------------------------------------------- Well designed, the whole level is in blue colors (the author added some blue extra walls). The labyrinth looks awesome. [ Bugs ] ------------------------------------------------------------ No HOMs, Medusa effects or Tutti-Frutties. No bugs at all. [ Enemies ] --------------------------------------------------------- Like I'm playing every level in UV, I tried it too... but it's much too hard I think. Right after starting you will meet a Cyber- demon, but don't think this is going to be easy (risky prediction, isn't it?), because behind the next door is an Arch-Vile waiting to blow you! Then I played it in Ultra Easy and it was not very easy though. I think the whole level suffers from this. But, I have to say that after playing the level once you will know where to get the weapons and it might be possible to kill those bastards even in Ultra Violence. [ Things ] ---------------------------------------------------------- Well placed, a lot of ammo, health and other stuff. [ Scoring ] --------------------------------------------------------- 88% Worth downloading, particularly to check out the special effects. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
