Welcome to the future

This section of my web site is going to be dedicated to suggestions for a new Workbench/Amiga. I have been thinking about this topic for a very long time now and my experience with other operating systems and computers leads me to believe that while the Amiga's OS is still one of the best, it is in desperate need of an overhaul and refit if it ever to be taken seriously by both big business and creative types.

This is where you'll find my ideas of what a new Workbench should look like, along with links to other people's ideas and a suggestions form so that you too can contribute to the project.

This kind of project is vital to show whoever ends up buying the machine that its true owners, the many thousands of us who still use the machine on a daily basis worldwide, know what they want. Even if there are conflicting opinions on this site because of feedback, it will at least show (insert suitable company name here) that Amiga users all want different things and a simple solution might not be possible in the long run. There will need to be machines especially suited to video work, games playing or creativity, rather than just one base machine that just isn't very good at all these things. Apple did it, and brought themselves back from the brink that Commodore toppled over.

Now we need to show that we will be behind whoever buys the Amiga next, offering them the easiest development path a computer company has ever seen - because the users can show the way...

The Amiga 2000 project starts here...
