Spent many happy years as a chemist and my main interest then was physical chemistry (gas-liquid chromatography and so on). Got involved with software and computers and within a few years the chemistry side of things started to take a back seat. For a long time my main academic interests lay in the use of language independent program design techniques (Warnier diagrams and so on).
