Helpful? Your tone of writting comes across to me as aggressive.
It was on Excite, webcrawler, hotbot and several others. (I couldn't
get Yahoo to put AYP on there despite repeated requests)
BTW, I started Amiga Yellow Pages towards the end of July '98. By the
time it had gone "off the air" a fortnight ago, It was just under the
30,000 mark. Not brilliant, but certainly not bad either.
Someone somewhere must have heard of it.
Besides, I have had a stack of emails from people telling me how much
they valued the service and how they miss it.
I didn't do too badly surely? It was mentioned in AF and CU Amiga too.
:P

Free beer? Oh it's not that sort of request. It'd need to cover the
basics about installing it all, and then the boing bag (btw any news on BB2
yet?), and covering problems that might arise from it such as the rogue
C:Installer problem. Then there's setting up patches with it such as
TweakWB and the like. Then of course there's getting the FastIPrefs
version of WBPattern to lock the palette for MWB ....
Hope this is a good start ...

I'd like a "getting the most out of OS3.5" type thing. Maybe you could
print a list of programs which have been specifically designed for it,
and also ones which have problems (advice on how to fix).
I know DOpus keeps being done, but I can't get enough of it! More DOpus!
Photogenics would be pretty good too.

It might have to be a general GTMOO Workbench, rather than just OS3.5, since
the more interesting things will apply to all current versions...

Yeah, but I've already written one six-part DOpus tutorial, a complete
beginners guide and most of the tutorials on the DOplus CD as well. I'm
pretty much Opus'ed out...

Bizarrely, what is probably the best flapjack on the planet is sold in the
Cambridge University chemistry department for around 50 pence a piece.
This information is almost certainly entirely useless to you.

Hmmm, using MCP (without patches) and there's nothing to do that. And why
should people following this tutorial have to install MCP just so that they
can have something that's part of teh OS anyway? All you have to do is
change the required setting in the WBPattern prefs - the only problem is,
the WBPattern prefs editor doesn't allow you to do it! D'oh! Hence having
to use the FastIPrefs one ... unless this is fixed in BB2 ...

CD32 Cannon Fodder won't work on an Amiga, as it accesses CD32
hardware. You need to get the HDInstall patch from an AFCD/Aminet.
Well, I say 'patch', but it's the actual Amiga version of the CF main
program.

My problem in a nutshell is that I can't get 2 or more players using the

Following on from the above, how about a "how to setup and use the
Amiga port of Apache on your Amiga" type thing? You could also include
all of the files required on AFCD.
With the imminent (ever hopeful) release of cable modems, people could
serve their own web pages from their own machines[1]. The security
feature could also be tied in with this.
[1] I I know /outgoing/ speed may not be /that/ fast, but it should
still cope fairly well as long as the site isn't too popular...

Yep, infact i started barfly disasembling but i think it crashed,
(after 2 hours !), it allready spewed out 14mb+ of fairly scary looking
asm. All you need to do now is to go through nearly every line an
change it to ppc opcodes.

Odd; it's well documented that it won't work on Amigas without the
patch. Perhaps, if you have a relatively new copy of the CD it has
already been patched (e.g. by Epic etc)

You should be able to go for a higher speed without probs anyway, but
setting your serial port to 230,400 will certainly work and might even
improve performance...

Slightly late on the thread, but what about a tutorial on geekgadgets
?, perhaps with the latest current/alpha versions of the software on
the CD.
I know its a massive topic, but you could do gcc&egcs / sed&grep /
jove&emacs / awk&tcl / ksh&scripts etc,.. in each tutorial, starting
with the install and going through to decent usage of the progs.
Its a topic most people will have to cover at some point and it has the
added charm that it makes Mac (and MacOSX) users really scared.

You can go up to 234000 (or whatever it is :) without problems, but
there's not really any noticeable speed difference. Any higher will
cause problems though.

Why not do an 'Amiga in the Real World' set of tutorials where you can
explore some practical applications (suggested by afb members?) of an
Amiga setup? With the exception of setting up web sites - a well worn
subject - you could look at:
o Designing a newsletter -
A perfect vehicle for stretching the legs of Pagestream
o Recording sports results -
Using spreadsheets to maintain a league table.
o House/garden design -
All the rage on telly and PC CD-ROMs, show how to use Imagine or
similar to pre-plan one of those DIY jobs.
o Run a radio station -
I have no idea how to do this. Maybe you could use ARexx to control a
playlist and some juke-box-alike equipment for the multitude of CDs.
etc...
I'm sure there are better ideas out there than these. You could have
boxouts detailing availability of hw/sw or getting to know the
software. Who knows, you could learn something yourself :-)

Is this Mac Netscape? I use Netscape Comm. 4.7 for Windows (95) and
have used 4.6 and as long as I actually include BORDER="0", I find there
is no gap, as is the case with every other browser I can get my hands

Can you point me towards all these games which are free and legal that were

I have got one of those on my system without the reset fix and it works
perfectly even after reboots. Its a revision 2B your interested.
If you want to do the fix without soldering you could try getting
clips that
hook on to the chips legs maplins have some in there catalouge. I was
looking
into these but since it worked ok I didn`t bother.

For God's sake - for someone so opinionated, you don't take much notice of
what you read (if you do). I even started a thread about this a couple of
months ago, asking for details from people that had been to the Koln show.

Well you are stuffed there then. You need a Zorro capable box for the
100Mbps card - the 16bit PCMCIA on the miggy cannot do it, so they cvame up
with a Zorro PCMCIA adapter instead. Tough luck :)

I don't think so. For a start trying to use any kind of Unix is far too much
like programming for quite a lot of readers, but also because it'll be
interminably dull for people who aren't interested. At least atm, if you
don't program, even the programming tutes are relatively interesting -

Or even running them head to head could be interesting - although they are
aimed at different markets, they do have a lot of similar functionality (but
IFX is buried under a hideous interface - pity - still trying to get the
hang of it)

What about:
JST and WHDload tutorials - how to load your fav games onto HDD and how to

Possibly, just depends how much attention you pay to what's on the

My point is, if you haven't run a site where getting a good position in
a search engine can be important, you won't know the difficulties
involved in getting a good position, e.g., within the first 50 sites
returned from a search.
Obviously Michael has run into this (as he's already mentioned), as have
I, seeing as I currently run 7 web sites....

And according to the Koln report (if my memory serves me correctly),
connecting to a Zorro II interface means that it'll only be able to

Well people running Opus 5.11 should get a life anyway. That version was
never very good and later ones are available (and more OS3.5 compatible).
However, I run YAM on a 24-hour basis both here and at home with no
trouble. It hasn't been the cause of any of the few crashes I experience. I
can't comment on Wordworth (which has never been programmed in a
particularly OS-friendly manner anyway) or ABackup.

Again, I run V3 almost constantly on this machine too, and while it's not as
stable as I'd like, I don't see the connection between it and YAM. I think
you'd probably find the same problem with running any two MUI programs, and
that there's a problem with MUI for you, rather than these individual apps.

Not if you're not using it. That might sound fatuous, but it won't degrade
the performance of your machine at all by simply being plugged in. However,
because of the fact that it (and indeed any Zorro II busboard) can't handle
DMA, then any card plugged into it *will* have to use the processor,
thereby slowing your machine down. However, the trade off is well worth
while in most instances I would imagine.

Many modems only work up to 115200. Try it and see, the worst that can
happen is that it won't work.
Watch the transfer rates if it does connect, faster is sometimes slower
where serial speeds are concerned.

Fusion can be fooled to use SS hardfiles: make a Fusion hardfile and
save it to be used by Fusion. Then delete it and rename the SS hardfile
to the same - the Fusion deleted hardfile must be at least as big as the
SS one. Then boot Fusion - and the hardfile should be there (at least
for me it worked).

Does it mean that ALL these A500 owners are school kids or students with no
money. Well 35 isn`t *too expensive* at all for a ROM and WB 3.1 upgrade.
Windows 98 is at least twice as expensive. This is the 21st century NOT
1990.
Tell them to start saving. A quid or more a week and then spend it on 3.1!
Internet access could be conceivably be accessible from any computer! As
long
as its got a TCPIP and PPP access you can access the net. Web browsing may
be difficult but email, ftp and ircing doesn`t need much CPU power. Even
A500s
can use ALynx to use the web (minus the gfx). I read that an an ancient
TI-99/4a
managed to browse the web as well! So, for a A500 it ain`t impossible (a bit
slow).

This is a known bug when PrinterGfx is set to Colour mode and thus picks
the first colour from RGB ie Red. To print in Black, load PrinterGfx and set
it to black and white. It should now print in Black!

Are you using Crossdos from WB 3? If so, then it will not work
on hard disks, as it was limited to using 1.44 floppies at most.
You need the full version of Crossdos such as Crossdos 7
to access Zips, Hard disks etc.

Yes ,PCs do not use RDBs at all. They use FAT and MBRs.

You need a full version of CrossDOS (the one on Workbench only works
with floppies) and a Mountlist to so that Workbench can mount it. Try
MountDOS on Aminet to create it for you!

and I can use either system very well.

I agree there. The cost is far too much and there isn`t much software around
to
make the _full_ use of it! And you are trying to fit them in every nook and
crany
you can find and then discovering that some things won`t work with one
another
or you need another patch or another upgrade to fix it... :(

I find AGA far too slow and Chip RAM to be a big bottleneck on Amigas.
How many people use AGA 256 colour Workbenchs! Not many, slugs on
a bad day, run faster than that!
The BoXeR could have made a killing last Christmas, if it had been released
when they
said it should. At least it doesn`t have any of the restrictions the current
A1200s and
A4000s have and come with full Zorro 3 and unlimited chip ram, faster
chipset and
can be fitted in _cheap_ ATX type boxes than the overpriced Towers we have
to buy
nowadays!

The only update has been the Blitz Support Suite but that is also hard to
get hold
off as well.
As for OS 3.5, the majority of your software should work. The only thing to
watch
out for is third party patches such as MCP and some Icon programs that do
not
like the new ColourIcon system introduced in OS3.5. Some new updates are
available

You need to find out what type of hub/switch you have.
Common network equipment is either 10Mbit/s or 100Mbit/s. Some, but not all
equipment has ports that are capable of working at 10 or 100.
100Mbit/s for Amiga.

Hi Ben,
I like the idea of a OS3.5 tutorial, but I would wait a while before
doing it, to allow the general community ( and me ;-) )to update to 3.5
status. I'm sure there has been enough printed already to keep the
current users going for a couple of months.
Would it be possible for a blitz2 tutorial? Or perhaps a games making
tutoral covering various techniques This could stem the flood of
breakout clones!
Also I distinctly remember CU promising that you would do a C4D
tutorial. Any chance of it now or just a general one in 3Ding.
Also is there a chance of a one-off expaning upon the 3D stuff in the C
tutorial that run last year? The books that were mentioned were =A340
each!!!
Also the sleeve is better than the case (my CD rack has drastically
overfilled), the binding makes no difference and please get rid of the
floppies so we can have more info in the AFCD in the mag.
Cheers
Andy.

Hello,
Yesterday I wondered what parts of JavaScript were slowing things down an=
awfull lot. Some of you offered me help and some of you told me it would=
be wise not to use JS in an all to advanced way. =
Today the problems seem to be solved and speed now is no issue anymore. A=
s a matter of fact instead of feeling down by the poor results delivered =
by the big 3 Amiga browsers I realy should have been happy. For some reas=
on both AWEB and V=B3 are so advanced at treating the code that they work=
around problems I had introduced by forgetting some important tags. Actu=
ally IBrowse2.1 was dead right in not showing a thing on the screen since=
that would be the only right thing to do. For those who want to know:
(in a nut-shell)
I tried to use JS to generate a vertical table containing `magic' buttons=
for navigating the site. So if you're trying to do that you'll need a co=
uple of <TR></TR> tags at any row you want to create. Well I had included=
the </TR> but forgot the opening tag. Silly me.
Also there were some messy things like not closing the links with a </A> =
tag. =
Today I've dumped the old code and started from 0. Now (local on my syste=
m) I've a JS-created menu which works and which does not slow down things=
=2E
So thanks to all you out there who offered me help at this. =
Also I feel like I have to plug IBrowse2.1 a bit. The reason is simple. I=
B2 provides some realy clear error-messages at wrong JS-code (unlike V=B3=
that's only screaming PARSING ERROR without telling what it is expecting=
) which does make coding a lot easier.

Hiya Guys,
Right my latest proggie AMPCS v2.0 is almost complete.. It is an update of
my current proggie AmPCSv1.7.
The AMPCS bit stands for AMiga Phone Code Search, and as the title suggests
it searches for dialling codes..
V2.0 is a major update (Complete re-write) from v1.7, and as such has a few
more features and optimisations..
The codes are also customisable, so none of this UK only crap.. I have codes
for UK and Austrailia.. and half the codes for US (Over 20thou atm..)
I'm looking for beta testers.. the current ver isn't finished, but I'd like
some feedback and ideas..
If you're interested email me, telling me so, and don't forget to tell me

The problem is that although I was able to register all my details on

document requires a larger key size for encryption than your browser

Any help on this would be greatley appreciated

Hi everyone,
After reading about streaming MP3 files off the internet I installed
'StreamMP3' and have it working (almost). Unfortunately the sound that
comes when playing these streams is a very broken.
My question is, how can I reconfigure the 'StreamMP3.rx' file so that it
uses a lower quality hence resulting is continuous sound? I tried
editing the file using 'ed' but then the file didn't work.
My system is A1200 '040 25Mhz. BTW, isn't 'Prayer2.0' great! Just wish
it was easier to register!

you're so stuck up that you dont want anyone else replying why dont you do
it through private mail, that way no-one can disturb you.
Ben I'm starting to get sick of this. I'm on this list because I like being

I think the Amiga community as a whole needs more porgrammers- remember the
excellent hardware, but poor software thing?
If you don't like the idea of a porgramming tutorial, how about a "Get the
best out of OS3.5," or a beginner's guide to various seperate parts of the
internet.
ie wk1: Get connected
wk2: The Web
wk3: Email
wk4: IRC
wk5: Newsgroups
etc. I would probably use more than just Mail and Web/FTP if I knew what was
going on. A full tutorial would give a chance to explore the depths of
different parts of the net more closely, rather than the one- off "Get
connected" features we've had before.

Oooh, get this fact-fans! A TV picture is run at 24 frames/sec whereas
films are recorded at 25 fps (I think, they might be the other way around)
so when they show a film on the telly they have to chop a few frames out
here and there so what was a 180 minute film in the cinema ends up as a
179 minute film on TV (or something).

Thanks for that. I was looking at network cards earlier but held of on

Well, actually, I forgot to do the KF jobby, but in response to your
comments:
1) This conference is a "direct" connection to the USA, *not* over the
internet.
2) This needs a two way 384Kbps connection (six times 64Kbs ISDN lines),
cablemodem (and this is according to the NTL web-site), while it can
download at 512Kbps, can only manage 128Kbps upload speed.
3) I need specialist equipment to take part in this conference, which I
cannot and will not buy.
4) Anywhere I go to rent conference facilities from, that will have this
equipment will (or should) already have ISDN.
5) Why would I want to change phone companies, buy a cable modem and a
network card, for something that's useless to me (see below)
6) I am *not* able to connect to NTL here (yet - even though they have
bought Cable & Wireless, alledgedly)) as Telewest run the cable services
in this area, don't contradict me on this because I've already tried
several Bristol postcodes, including my own, on NTL's web site.
Need I say any more?

GLQuake (on the PC) has a lot better `quality' look, with finer pixels,
etc. and basically, makes use of 3D chips, IIRC.

I am using a 56K modem and an ioblix1200s. At the moment I am only
using a
connection speed of 115200 (230400 a bit unsteady). I am testing with
a
MP3 stream from the http://www.iocon.com/mp3/mp3.index (as in the read
me
file) and the stream should be a 48K mono, or something like that.
What exactly do I change? If I use 'ed' and then save any changes then
StreamMP3 doesn't work. I get an error saying something about quotes??
Do you mean the line that goes something like this.
mp3args = '-m -t2000 -f22050 -I0002000'
This is the first time I have tried anthing like this so I apologise if
I sound a bit think.

Probably the A600, it was going to be labelled less than 500 to
indicate it was a small console-y type thing. But they thought that
making it the A300 would give people the impression that it was a cost

can't remember on which CD). </me uses AFCDFind> AFCD38, in the Reader

We've done this to death in recent issues, so no, we won't be doing one of
those for a while.

No, because I already said I don't want to do another programming tutorial.

I don't see how they could promise we'd do one, we certainly never agreed to
it. However, in this issue, we've got a complete beginners guide to 3D
basics, written by moi (and the bloody hardest bit of writing I've ever
done. Trying not to do more than four pages on 3D is like trying to drain
the Pacific ocean with a sieve) and a new tutorial on Imagine written by
afb member Andy Kinsella. The first one doesn't look too nice because it
has far too much copy for the two pages it's on, but it's certainly
fact-packed.

Can't get rid of the floppies yet, there are still more than 1000 people
that buy the floppy edition - a significant number now...

It's true but the other way around. Films are shown at 24fps, PAL TV is at
25fps and NTSC TV is 30fps. However, you can double those rates for TV
since those frames are actually made of two interlacing fields at 50Hz and
60Hz (times per second - a frequency Mash) respectively. I'm sure we'll get
a mail from Tim Siefert in about a week's time explaining all this very
succinctly.

I simply moved my Shapeshifter hardfiles into the Fusion/Hardfiles dierctory
and then renamed them "MSHardFile0", MSHardFile1", MSHardFile2", etc. I then
set the paths within Shapeshifter to their new location and now I can use
Fusion and Shapeshifter with the same Hardfiles.
In my oppinion, Fusion is the better product; on my system it is faster and

It is true that many such patches aren't explained to well; they
usually have the "it does this" text in the docs, but explainations on
how you config the things are quite succinct.
VisualPrefs would be a great start, cos a). I have it installed, and
b). I want to know exactly what each options in the prefs does. Maybe
then we can increase the number of reader submissions on VisualPrefs

That's what it does. The fact that it cannot populate the packets with
enough data is not a problem - it will run at 100mbps.
You still need a Zorro II setup though - get a Z4 for your A1200.

This question is made somewhat easier due to various bits of the A600
having "A300" printed on them...

They wouldn't know of course, unless they looked. Then again, getting the
SNMP information from a router asking how much data was requested *from*
port 80 is dead easy to find out an monitor, using something like MRTG and
the like.
Most providers filter out ports 80/8000/8080 to prevent HTTP and also
21/2121/69/6969 to prevent FTP (and TFTP). And the ports for IRCBOTs.
This is dead easy to do - takes about 10 seconds on a Cisco router that all
the connections go through.
Or it could be done via Squidproxy which can be run in transparent mode so
you don't even know it's there.
Then again, it all depends on the AUP that you sign up to. If they exclude
it and you do it, they can withdraw the service altogether.

Mmm, brushed aluminium... Is this VisualPrefs/Birdie/QNX thingy in the
same colours as Neutrino, and are the gadgets good? I haven't tried
making my own gadgets yet, so I don't know anything about it. Does
VisualPrefs scale them if the font size is different? And what about

Hello all.
I have an A1200 with a Blizzard 060 with SCSI board. It takes forever
to boot up.
I gather this is because it checks all for the presence of various SCSI
devices.
This is irritating as I only have a CDROM connected.
What makes it worse is that I have OS3.5, which causes a reboot as part
of setpatch AND
Fusion's rsrvmem thing, which also reboots the machine.
I guess that means my system checks three times for SCSI devices.
Is there any way of telling it not to bother for anything other than
the CDROM?
Love to know!

I know Ben has dismissed the idea of more OS3.5 things for a while,
but....
I'd like something a bit more detailed on the new preferences editors.
There's
not much in the manual (that I've found anyway).
I'm especially interested in the CD prefs. There's a gadget in there
for boot
priority, which is permanently greyed out on my machine. Booting from
a CD was
one of the features touted in the early days of 3.5 discussions.
How does this work, if at all?
And is the second 3.5 update due soon?

I know what you mean! My Amiga reboots *three times* before I can do
anything; SetPatch (OS3,5), Oxypatcher, and the PPC.library emulation
all have to reboot. Wouldn't it be nice if they could all load
themselves in, then reboot only once?

Check Aminet. I know theres something there for the standard IDE port,
but I don't know of anything SCSI-related. Good luck on your quest!

You have a contract. That stipulates the service you receive and the
uses it may be put to. An "anything goes" policy would also permit spam.
How would you like it if your access slowed right down because someone
else on your segment of the network was running a server for MP3s?

Which QNX GUI? If your desktop is the one on Aminet now, then that's
just a
mockup shot created in Photoshop. If you look at the latest Amigactive,
you'll
see what Photon looks like now: a bit bluier, more Mac-ish with it's
gadgets,
but the same with it's images (lovely colourdepth, with big black
borders)
Anyone want me to make a VP theme for the *new* Photon?

Sorry to cut out the *entire* message (was getting a bit long),
but have you thought about trying to find System 7.5 on a CD,
or System 8 on a CD? It's easy to boot from them and install
your stuff.
On a lighter note, has anyone tried Fusion off the AFCD and
found that they can't use the CD emulation (Peripherals/CD-ROM)
with OS3.5 anymore? I could with the old Public Beta v43
scsi.device, but not with the newer OS3.5 one. What is Fusion
doing that makes it say that..
"scsi.device is not suitable for CDROM emulation"
.. or whatever it really says? Shapeshifter works fine, BTW,
but I bought Fusion way back when and I'd like to get it back
up and running..

Fusion doesn't seem to like any other program using a CGX screen

Fusion using a CGX mode. ( I only have CGX3, so I don't know if

Is there any companies that could tailor make a miggy with PPC for a

Windows 2000 is actually the replacement for Windows NT, and designed to be
run on servers. I have however seen an installation of Windows 2000 on a
laptop (don't ask - the culprit is a just a complete fool) and the windows
directory was in excess of 800 MB in size!!!

what's the latest info, gettin information on the amiga is very hard,
none of my newsagents have any amiga mags. Latest I knew was that MCC
was scraped for a PPC and that it'sgoing LINUX. At the same time I've
read news about Gateway selling Amiga to loyal ex-employees - (amino I
think). Basically can anyone direct me to a good source of information
except Amiga Format which I really ought to subscribe to.

Matthew,
wait a second, I'm only trying to help,
the last time you mentioned the <network device> you didn't know whether it
was a hub or a switch, this implied that you might not know its
specification. This is why I was talking in general terms and saying you
should check your particular equipment. This will determine what type of
network card you need. You hub is 100 only, then you need a 100M card. But:

That's what it does. The fact that it cannot populate the packets with
enough data is not a problem - it will run at 100mbps.
Agreed, calling it a 100M card doesn't mean it is capable of moving data to
its PCMCIA or Zorro interface at 100Mbit/s, only that the LAN port can
interface with another 100Mbit/s LAN port.
If it turns out that you can only get a 10M card for the 1200, there are
other possibilities.

What is you comp? A 1200? or a bigbox?
Most stuff doesnt require that much harddisk space. you can pick up New
2Gb HD for around 80 pounds. Second hand they should be even cheaper.

Dont we all :) (well, no actually. I want a faster miggy, but not a pc
emulation one)

Get hold of AmigaFormat Or (dare I say it on afb?) AmigActice, both in
WHSmiths and such. There are adverts in there for both sets of
hardware.

Sorry, I don't know about the scsi.device problem, I did take a quicl
look at the messages I have here from the fusion ML, but there's
nothing to do with this problem, IYSWIM... :(
I managed to get OS8.0 (new, in sealed box) from someone on
http://www.qxl.com for 20. Someone else here (hello Neil ;) managed to
pick it up at a computer fair for 5. The OS8.1 update can then be
downloaded from Apple.
I'm sure OS8.1 runs way nicer here than 7.5.x did...

An example of where this manifests itself more than anything, is if you
have a `menu' consisting of a set of image buttons, one above the other.
If you want these to butt up against each other at the top and bottom,
you will more than likely have to WIDTH & HEIGHT in the TD tags to make
sure the cells don't leave a gap between the images.

Yup, Amino did a takeover jobbie from gateway who, once they got the
patents for certain "Digital Convergence" necasary items discarded the
Amiga. Luckily Fleccy Moss and, and, and, Damnit. whats his name? I
forget. (bill McEwin??) bought the Amiga from `em.
Your best bet to catch up is either http://www.amiga.com or one (or
both) of the best news sites out there for the Amiga:
http://www.realdreams.cz/amiga (Czech Amiga News) or
http://www.amiga.org (Amiga.org)
On either of these click on the "check older news" links and have a
browse! :)
Hopes this helps somewhat. No doubt someone will elaborate on my
skimpish details.

400Mb is madness compared to what, then? Name me another OS
on the PC that takes up less space that does the same amount
of stuff.
Besides, it's more like 600Mb when it's installed (400Mb in
filesizes alone, but when you put it on disk NTFS sucks up
a load of space for extended file attributes) and then
you have your 150Mb of swap space, the 200Mb of journalling
and backup filesystem data and redundancy and stuff.
This is an Amiga list anyway. And I could trounce you in any
discussion on Windows 2000 so you can stop now ;)

I take it you don't read AmiGactive, or reside on one of
the Phoenix/QNX mailing lists? :)
QSSL have revealed that they have ports of Quake 3 Arena
and Unreal Tournament for Neutrino/Photon. No big deal,
you might say, but then they had these things ported and
running (yup!) before they were even released.
Good news for Deathmatch fans. Good news for people who
want some apps for a prospective Phoenix-y type platform.
Good news for people who like to whine at good news ;)

its an avi file, but it`ll take a fair while to download as its quite a

Make it compulsory for any channel owner on ARCNet to have a link to

I suppose HAL and the eggs could be updated to have http://www.amibench.org/
