Brown Water
By Steve Hawkes

This beautifully atmospheric image was drawn completely by hand on an A4000 running the Brilliance paint package. Drawn over a period of weeks, this image proves that Amiga art demands as much attention as traditional paint and canvas.

Mouse Friend
By Lars Martensson, Sweden

PD fans will recognise Lars' work from the graphics for many well-known demos. Drawn in 256 colours, the reflective surfaces, which were hand drawn with a limited range of colours, are very impressive.

GoldFish

By Valan Chan, Ruskington
Valan is a convert to the Amiga from Mac and PC graphics and uses Lightwave. This image illustrates the powerful Depth Of Field option - see how the weed in the foreground is slightly blurred. Brilliant!

Kawasaki
By Martin Edwards, South Glamorgan

This hand-drawn image was constructed in 256 colours using an A4000/030 running DPaint IV AGA. Credit must also go to Martin's wife, Jane, who had considerable influence on the image.

Model
By Patricia Hodgson, Cleveland

Surprisingly, this subtlely shaded portrait was drawn on a standard A500 Plus running DPaint lll. Drawn by hand from a photograph, Patricia says the most difficult part was the hair. Note the use of dither patterns to give an illusion of more colours.

The Bot Family
By Gary Ryder, Shrewsbury

You don't need an A4000 running Lightwave to create wonderful rendered art as this ray-traced image from Gary Ryder proves. Gary created the image using an A1500 with 4Mb of RAM and a copy of Activa's Real 3D 1.4.

Snow Life
By Laurence Shickle

This isn't technically the most impressive or the most striking Imagine-rendered image we've ever featured but it's the simplicity and bold colours that really make it work. The gorgeous blue hue adds to the atmosphere immeasureably.
