A Resource About High Blood Pressure ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ May is a pretty active month in health affairs, with no fewer than 34 National Health Observances scheduled in 1992. They run the spectrum from Asthma and Allergy Month, Older Americans Month, World Red Cross Day, Community Safe Kids Week, National Nurses Week, Buckle Up America Week to World No Tobacco Day (May 31). I wish I could highlight all of them here, but certainly none are more essential to American Health than National High Blood Pressure Month. The National High Blood Pressure Education Program sponsors this celebration, and wants to highlight information both on high blood pressure and stroke prevention. To this end they have made a Fact Sheet on each of these subjects available to you, single copies without charge, that you may obtain by sending a stamped self-addressed, business size envelope to "Fact Sheets" National High Blood Pressure Education Program, P.O. Box 30105, Bethesda, MD 20284-0105. Ask for both the "High Blood Pressure" and "Stroke Prevention" fact sheet by name. ---------------- The material contained here is "FOR INFORMATION ONLY" and should not replace the counsel and advice of your personal physician.
