ADDING A SCHEDULE ITEM

A QwikSchedule Schedule Item is basically a definable item you create that has a time, category and alarm status associated with it. This differs from a To Do Item, which is simply a text description of an item for a particular day. A Schedule Item can have a category of "To Do Item", or any other of the 20 categories. A Schedule Item takes a bit more time to enter, but is a more sophisticated item. If you are looking to quickly enter items, using To Do Items is quickest. If you need to place times, categories or alarms on your items, Schedule Items are the way to go. Also, the Schedule Items are the only items that appear on the QwikScan Calendar.

To add a New Schedule Item, follow the following steps

  • Click “Open Today's Schedule & Tasks” from the QwikSchedule desktop toolbar

  • Select the time (and date, if different from today) for your schedule item.
If this is a recurring item, select when it occurs from the "Occurs" combo box. If it occurs only on the date you have specified, select "Once" from the "Occurs" combo box.

  • Type in the item description.
For long descriptive items, use a short sentence, followed by a carriage return, and then proceed to type in the details. Qwikschedule will display the first line in the Daily view, which will make it easier to read.

  • Locate the combo-box with the phrase “To Do Item”.
Clicking on the down-arrow will reveal 20 categories you can place this item into.
    Select the appropriate category.
If you do not select any, the item will default to a category of  “To-Do item”

  • If you want to set up an alarm for this item, click on the Alarm button.
The default setting for the alarm is to display a popup window and sound a default wav sound.

You can change this behavior by clicking on the “Configure Alarm” button. From the Configure alarm screen, you can select a different WAV file, or disable the WAV from playing, as well as disable a popup screen.

  • Click on the “Apply/Done” button to save this entry, or "Apply/Continue" to save and continue. Apply/Continue is useful if you are entering many schedule items that have similar traits.

If you have done everything correctly

your item should appear in the Schedule & Tasks window. If you scheduled the item for a different day, go to that day by clicking on the calendar icon next to the day/date text, and then click on the appropriate date on the calendar to take you to the Schedule & Tasks window or that day.
