Applying the Colored Frames in Photoshop

 

I. The Easy Way


1. Open one of the frame files from the frames sub folder.

2. Open the photo file you want the frame to be applied to.

3. Activate the frame window and choose Image Size from the Image menu.

4. In the Image Size dialog enter the pixel size of the photo file to adapt the frame to the size of the photo.

5. Select the whole frame by pressing <Ctl + A> and press <Ctl +C> to copy the frame to the clipboard.

6. Switch to the photo window and press <Ctl+ V> to paste the frame as a new layer on top of the photo.


7a. Select the magic wand tool from the tool bar and click with it on the inner white area. Use Feather from the Select menu, if you want to smooth the selection. And finally press the <Del> key.

7b. Select Layer Options from the Layers menu. Move the white triangle of the first grey scaled bar ("This Layer") a bit to the left until the inner white area of the frame disappears.


8. If you like, you can flatten the image.

 

II. The Advanced Way


1. Open one of the frame files from the frames sub folder.

2. Open the photo file you want the frame to be applied to.

3. Activate the frame window and select the whole frame by pressing <Ctl + A> and press <Ctl +C> to copy the frame to the clipboard.

4. Switch to the photo window and press <Ctl+ V> to paste the frame as a new layer on top of the photo.


5a. Select the magic wand tool from the tool bar and click with it on the inner white area. Use Feather from the Select menu, if you want to smooth the selection. And finally press the <Del> key.

5b. Select Layer Options from the Layers menu. Move the white triangle of the first grey scaled bar ("This Layer") a bit to the left until the inner white area of the frame disappears.


6. If you like, you can flatten the image.
