WARNING:
The results of all calculations with decimals are estimates. Although they are reasonably accurate (less than 0.1% error in my experience), results may differ slightly from that of other devices because of quantization error, rounding errors etc...
Note:
Make sure you understand what Active Tables, LookUp Tables and Transforms are. Once you know what they are everything else will be easier.
3 COLUMN (Check Box):
Situated in the middle at the top of Active Tables, when this box is checked 3 columns are visible. When it is not depending on the Active Table able 2 or less columns are visible at a Time.
ACTIVE TABLES:
Active Tables are Applications. Physically they look like tables. You the user enter data in some of the columns and the system automatically populates the others. SmartTrinkets is smart enough to tell you if you should enter data in a column or not. When appropriate, SmartTrinkets totals the entries in an Active Table column and display the result at the bottom of the latter. In some cases SmartTrinkets debits the total of a column from a daily allocation entered by you the user and displays how much resources is left for the day.
Furthermore, each Active Table has an associated LookUp table. The first row of the LookUp Table is displayed in a drop down list every time you select a row in the first column of the Active Table. If you select a row from the drop down list the latter is copied from the LookUp Table to the Active Table. The LookUp table is meant to contain information that is entered often in the Active Table; it enables you to save some time. Note that the drop down list is only active if the ListOn check box at the bottom right of the screen is checked.
Finally some Active Tables have a start and end date. You may view entries for a specific day by setting the start date equal to the end date You may view entries for several days by setting the end date and the start date to the appropriate values. Note that when you change the start date, the end date is automatically set to the same value as the latter.
Some of the Active Tables in the system are Checking Account 1 and 2, Saving Account 1 and 2, Diet Tracker and so on.
AIR MILES TRACKER (Active Table)
It allows you to keep track of and manage you air miles. (see Active Table definition)
AMOUNT LEFT (Active Table Field)
Base Amount minus Total. (see Active Table definition)
COLUMN LIST (Active and LookUp Table Drop Down List)
Situated above a column it allows you to select the content of the column below it.
CAPITAL GROWTH CALC (Transform)
This Transform calculates the growth of capital over a user specified amount of time. It asks for an APR (annual percentage rate), the capital invested, a start date and an end date.
CASH TRANSACTION (Active Table)
This Active Table allows you to keep track of your "walking around" money.
CHECKING ACCOUNT #1 and #2(Active Table)
These Active Tables allow you to keep track of your checking account. They enable you to see transactions for any range of dates. They keep a running balance as well as a total for the dates being displayed.
CLOCKS (Active Table)
Allows you to keep time for several cities around the world.
CLOCKS LOOKUP (LookUp Table)
Look Up table to the Clock active table. This table is provided so you can select the cities for which you will keep time. The more cities the more battery power your Palm will utilize when CLOCKS is being displayed.
CREDIT CARD TRACKER #1, #2 and #3 (Active Table)
These Active Tables allow you to keep tract of your credit card accounts. They enable you to see transactions for any range of dates. They keep a running balance as well as a total for the dates being displayed.
CURRENCY EXCHANGE
The currency exchange system has 2 parts, a Transform and a LookUp Table both called "Currency Exchange". The Transform performs the actual conversion from one currency to another. The LookUp Table contains the conversion factors. In it you are expect to define all the currencies versus a B.C. or Base Currency. As long as all of the currencies are defined versus a single currency the conversion will be correct. In the table enclosed the base currency is the US dollar which you will not has a conversion factor of 1, however, it could have been the Euro or any other currency. The choice is up to you.
DAY COUNTDOWNS (Active Table)
It allows you to keep track of the number of days you have until a particular event occurs. You select the target and every day smartTrinkets tells you how many days are left until the event occurs.
DAYS OFF (Active Table)
It allows you to keep track of and manage your vacation days and sick days. It allows you to easily keep track of the number days off you have left. You don't have to try to remember or calculate. It is all there for you to see.
DELETE (Button)
It deletes the last row selected by the user or displayed by the system which ever came last.
DESCRIPTION LIST (Drop Down List)
Only present in Active Tables, this list displays the content of the associated LookUp Table description column every time you select a row in the first column of an Active Table. Once the user selects a row from the description List, that row is copied from the LookUp Table to the Active Table. Note that it is only present when the ListOn box at the bottom on the screen is checked.
DIET TRACKER (Active Table)
This Active Table allows you to keep track of your daily calorie and fat intake. It also estimates the number of minutes of 2 mph walk it would take to burn the amount of Calorie entered.

END DATE (Field)
It is the date field at the top left of the screen. It is the last date for which information is to be displayed. Tables that have dates display information from the Start Date to the End Date. The End Date is set to the Start Date every time the latter is changed.
EVENT LOOK UP (LookUp Table)
This Look Up table is meant to be a companion to DAY COUNTDOWN, DAYS OFF and TIME TRACKER Active table.
FIND (Button)
Only present in LookUp Tables this button finds the row with the description that matches the string entered in the field next to the find Button.
GROCERY LIST TRACKER (Active Table)
This Active table is meant to allow you keep track of your grocery shopping. It enables to see Grocery shopping for a particular set of dates and it displays a total for those dates. For each item it requires a description, a price and quantity and SmartTrinkets does the rest; mistakes by supermarket clerks will no longer go unnoticed. It has a LookUp Table that allows you to enter description and prices of items that are bought often for rapid entry.
GROCERY LIST LOOK UP (LookUp Table)
This Look Up Table is the companion LookUp to the Grocery List Active Table.
INTEREST COMPUNDING (Transform)
This Transform calculates the return on an investment or the interest on a debt over a user specified amount of time given an APR (annual percentage rate), the capital invested, a start date and an end date.
LENGTH CONVERSION (Transform)
Converts values from one unit of length to another.
LIQUID CONVERSION (Transform)
Converts values from one unit of liquid to another.
LISTON (Check box)
Each Active Table has an associated LookUp table. The first row of the LookUp Table is displayed in a drop down list every time you select a row in the first column of the Active Table. Displays the LookUp Table associated to an Active table.
LOOKUP TABLES
LookUp tables are meant to be like dictionaries pertaining to a specific subject. They may or may not be associated to an Active Table. However, each Active Table has an associated LookUp Table that contains information that is entered often in the Active tables or information the user may not readily know. The first row of the LookUp Table is displayed in a drop down list every time you select a row in the first column of the Active Table. If you select a row from the drop down list the latter is copied from the LookUp Table to the Active Table. The drop down list is only active the ListOn box is checked.
MONTHLY PAYMENT (Transform)
This Transform calculates the amount of the payment to be made monthly to finish paying a loan with a certain APR, in a given amount of time. It asks for the Loan Amount, the APR on the loan, and the number of months in which you must pay the loan back.
NEW (Button)
It creates a new row at the end of a table. Sorted tables are only resorted after the columns being displayed are changed or the number of visible columns is altered or a new row is selected.
PAYEE LOOKUP (LookUp Table)
This Look Up table is meant to contain the name of all institutions from which you purchase on a regular basis. It is the companion table to all checking, saving, and credit card tracking accounts.
SAVING TRACKER #1 and #2 (Active Table)
These Active Tables allow you to keep track of your saving accounts. They enable you to see transactions for any range of dates. They keep a running balance as well as a total for the dates being displayed.
SHOPPING LIST (Active Table)
This Active table is meant to allow you keep tract of your non-grocery shopping.
It enables to see your shopping for a particular set of dates and it displays a total for those dates. For each item it requires a description, a price and quantity, a discount percentage and SmartTrinkets does the rest; mistakes by cashier will no longer go unnoticed. It has a LookUp Table that allows you to enter description and prices of items that are bought often for rapid entry.
SHOPPING LIST LOOKUP (LookUp Table)
This Look Up Table is the companion table to the Shopping List Active Table.
START DATE (Field)

TOTAL (Active table Field)
- Dated Tables: The sum of all the values entered from the Start Date until the End Date for a column.
- Non Dated Tables: The sum of all the values entered for a column.
TRANSFORM
A transform is a calculator customized to determine a specific set of values given a specific set of inputs.
TRUE COST (Transform)
This Transform calculates how much an item bought on credit for which a payment is made every month will end up costing you given the APR on the credit line. It requires the cost of the item, the APR (Annual Percentage Rate) on the credit card or loan, and the amount of the monthly payment.
WEIGHT CONVERSION (Transform)
Converts values from one unit of weight to another.
