Notes regarding disc creation

Please note the following when creating a disc:

  • In order to create a Video CD, a separate CD-R drive is required. In order to create a DVD-Video, a separate DVD drive is required.
  • We do not guarantee the operation of drives other than those on the Compatible Drive list in relation to disc writing.
  • Video CDs created with a CD-R drive cannot be played back with some players.
  • DVD-Videos created with a DVD drive cannot be played back with some players.
  • Please confirm that your drive is operating correctly before creating a disc with IMxVCD/DVD.
  • In order to create a disc, the environment recommended by the manufacturer of your drive is required. Also, make sure to observe any warnings and directions given by the drive manufacturer.
  • Please use discs recommended by the drive manufacturer.
  • Please confirm that software, drivers, etc. that affect disc writing are not installed on your computer.
  • For Windows users, we recommend that you have the DMA transfer mode of your hard disk turned ON.
  • Screen savers, System agents and other software that uses the timer to run application may affect the disc writing process. No other applications other than IMxVCD/DVD should be running at the time of disc writing.
  • Please confirm that you have enough memory and free hard disk space. The disc writing process could be affected if these are extremely low.
  • The disc writing process will not be completed properly using a disc that has scratches, dust, or is used.
  • The Macintosh version of IMxVCD2 does not support direct writing to CD-R.
For Video CD creation, you can create a Video CD image file compatible with the Video CD creation function of Roxio’s Toast. You can then create a Video CD by using Toast’s Video CD creation function to write your created image file to CD-R.
