iriverter has a few options that give you as much flexibility with conversion as the iriver will allow
The bitrate that a multimedia stream is encoded at is basically the amount of information to include per second. A higher bitrate allows more information to be encoded so it will appear or sound nicer than something encoded at a lower bitrate, but its filesize will be higher too. The defaults that iriverter provides are recommended, but if you want to change them you can do so by selecting
-> (Shift-Ctrl-B).If you are using a PMP then you can set the dimensions and frame rate of the converted videos.
320x240 is the size of the PMP screen providing a small file size, but it might not look so good when outputted to a TV. 640x480 is the size of a standard TV so it will look nice on a TV, but the video's file size will be larger. 512x384 is a good compromise between the other two.
As far as the frame rate, the higher the frame rate, the smoother the video will appear, but the file size will increase as well.
Increases or decreases the volume of the video to a normal loudness. Use this if your videos seem too quiet.
Turns widescreen videos into fullscreen ones without distorting the image. Be aware that this could take sizeable portions of the sides of your video off.
