Infiltration Mutator for
Unreal Tournament
|
Version 2.71
Welcome to our updated release for Unreal Tournament! This update
fixes some of the problems that cropped up with the 2.7 release, such as
constant crashes, perfect bot aim, and other minor details. It also
includes the ability to shoot through walls, and although this feature is in
beta stages, it works quite well. All of the fixes in this patch address
offline problems only. We'll be following this soon with a patch that
addresses online problems as well. This is a standalone patch so you don't
need version 2.7 first.
When you encounter a bug dealing with the mutator, feel
free to drop Warren a line with the word
'bug' in your subject heading. Please check the Bugs
& Fixes page to ensure you're up to date on any problems and possible
solutions. It has already been updated with bugs currently in the mutator
that we're addressing, but minor enough to warrant a release still.
We're also advancing our admin menu for administrators to be able
to alter Infiltration settings remotely.
Thanks!!

Instructions on how to install and play the
Infiltration mutator
- If you downloaded the UMOD format, simply
double-click the UMOD file after you extract it from the ZIP file.
If you downloaded the manual installation files, unzip them all to your
UnrealTournament\System directory.
- Included with this download
is a simple map that lets you see various wall widths and how the ammunition
reacts to it. It's a very simple map and doesn't support bots, so make
sure you set them to 0 before entering it. The weapons that can fire
through walls are the M92f, MP5/10A3, M16A2, PSG-1, and Robar.
- Start Unreal Tournament.
- Begin a Practice Session or Server.
- Click the Mutators button.
- Drag or double-click the "Infiltration
Weapons" mutator to the "Used Mutators" box.
- Close the mutator window.
- To change your weapon setup and set other
Infiltration options, go to the Mod option in the UT menu heading at the top, then choose
Infiltration. A window will appear where you can set all the details.
- Each UT weapon is listed on the left.
On the right is a drop down menu where you can choose ANY Infiltration weapon.
- If you choose the option 'don't exchange'
than the corresponding UT weapon will still be present in the game.
- If you choose a weapon other than the M9
pistol for the default, and you want more of that weapon throughout the level, ensure that
you replace another UT weapon for the one you have set as default. For example, if
you choose the M3 shotgun as your default weapon, make the M3 shotgun available in another
slot as well... otherwise once you run out of ammo, that will be it for that weapon until
you die. This can make for interesting game modes as well!
- To set up your Reload and Weapon
Mode keys, simply go to the Player Configuration subcategory and choose the Keys
subheading. You can also set your keys for using the Radar.
- The Reload key is to reload
your weapon once you empty a clip or you wish to change out your clip for a fresh, new
one- if you have Auto Reload checked in your Infiltration menu, your weapon will reload
itself automatically once your clip is empty and you have clips remaining. If your
shotgun or Robar bolt action rifle is auto reloading and you need it to stop, simply press
and hold the fire button.
- Every weapon except the AT4 and H&K69
use the +1 standard, which means your weapon can hold the number of rounds in a clip plus
1 in the chamber. For the Benelli shotgun, this means after you load 8 rounds into
the weapon, you must close the bolt first to make room for the last round.
- If you don't expend all the ammo in a clip,
and you reload anyway, you keep that clip. You only discard clips after all ammo has
been expended from it.
- The Weapon Mode button is
to alter specific functions of some weapons. The shotgun can change between pump and
semi auto, the MP5 and M16 can alter between firing modes, and the sniper rifles can alter
zoom.
- Once you configure the Infiltration mutator
to your liking, simply click the Close button and your information will be kept the same
when you run Unreal Tournament again.
- Returning to your practice session or server
window, choose any remaining options and start the game!
Features of the Infiltration Mutator
- Replace any UT weapon for any Infiltration
weapon- no specific order needed! Even replace multiple UT weapons for the same
Infiltration weapon.
- Don't allow certain weapons, or
ALL weapons to show up in the game as pickups.
- Start an Infiltration game with any weapon,
ammo amount, or armor already in your inventory.
- Using a simple slide bar, slow the UT game
speed, effecting only how fast the players move.
- Configure all of your Infiltration-related
buttons from the Inf menu- no need to do anything manually from the console.
- Choose an option for automatic or manual
reloading.
- Allow the aiming (altfire)
button to be toggled or held.
- Fire through walls.
- Find any Infiltration game
online from the custom InfBrowser.
- Infiltration's own StandOff game option which
allows you to set the number of times you can respawn in any UT game mode
before you simply become a spectator.
- Set your respawn limit from 1 to 999, display
in your HUD the number of lives remaining.
- Last man remaining timer- used in Deathmatch
and Team Deathmatch only, you can have a timer begin counting down when there's a 1 on 1
situation for DM or 1 person left on a team for Team DM. Very useful for online
matches using StandOff where dead players are waiting for the next game to begin.
- Friendly Fire punishment slide
bar which, if
friendly fire is enabled in the UT menu, will give a % of the damage back to the person
that fired those shots or launched that grenade.
- Prioritize your Infiltration weapons, much the
same way you do with UT.
- Options for dropping equipment when a player
has been fragged. You can set it up to drop weapons, ammo, items, or any combination
of the three.
- A simple radar for both newbies or players who
enjoy quick game play. It is overlaid in the center of the screen, making it
difficult to aim while activated. No center point also keeps the player on their
toes. It has three levels of zoom, with colors representing each team, and even a
special icon for the player with a flag in CTF.
- An admin menu that lets a player login as the
administrator and maintain control, when game play takes a turn for the worst due to
others in the game. Simple interface for kicking and/or banning players based on
their IP address.
- Make almost all decorations in any given level
destroyable, with a respawning slide bar, scaled in seconds.
- Optionally allow all ammo in a level to be
destroyed- but lookout! Ammo bites back...
- Night time operations!
Using a slide bar and a couple options, you can dim the lighting in ANY
level from 0% to 100%! Then start yourself off with a flashlight,
searchlight, or nothing!
- ...and many more!...
Weapons Available
- Beretta M92f pistol
- Benelli M3 S90 shotgun
- H&K MP5 10A3 submachine gun
- Colt M16A2 assault rifle

NOTE:
Some
other mutators won't work in conjunction with the Infiltration mutator for obvious
reasons.
If you have problems playing the game itself, feel free to
leave
us a message on our forums and we'll try to clear up the issue.
ENJOY!!!
* To make an Infiltration
Server work properly
Open up your UnrealTournament.ini
file in your UnrealTournament/System directory and look for the following heading:
[Engine.GameEngine]
At the end of that subsection are ServerPackages=
Simply add the following line after the rest of the ServerPackages lines:
ServerPackages=InfiltrationUT
If that line is already
there, or appears more than once, ensure it's listed only once.
Then before you start a match,
and you have Standoff enabled, set the number of frags to zero in the UT
game setup.
Otherwise the scoring system won't work properly.
Make sure you choose a
specific Infiltration game mode so your server will show up in the InfBrowser
and others can easily see you as an Infiltration server!
The admin menu doesn't allow you
to alter many of the Infiltration options remotely, but we're working on this
feature next and should have an update soon, along with any other needed bug
fixes.
That's it!!!
