Options Menu
There are two ways to invoke the 'Options' drop-down menu:
- Click on the Options button
- Right-click anywhere on the DFX panel
When you invoke the 'Options' drop-down menu, a list of additional features can be selected,
which may include the following:
-
Skin Browser...
Manage factory, downloaded, and custom skins:
DFX comes with several visually and functionally impressive factory skins to choose from.
However, as with audio settings, you may customize how DFX looks by changing skins,
downloading and installing new ones, and even designing your own skins with surprising
ease.
When starting up or restarting DFX, it either remembers the last skin setting used, or
displays a newly installed skin (whichever comes last). If you just installed a new skin, you
will need to restart DFX in order to display that new skin. DFX is designed to automatically
display a newly installed skin upon restart. To restart DFX, simply close the player and then
reopen it.
Clicking on 'Skin Browser...' displays the selection window (left). The name of the skin
currently displayed is highlighted.
To select a different skin simply highlight it and double-click or hit 'OK'.
To download and install more skins click 'Get More...' or go to www.fxsound.com and click on the 'SKINS' tab. Go
to the Download Skins page and click on a skin image you like or 'Download' to begin the
installation. Choose "Run this program from its current location" or "Open" and follow the
Installer prompts to install the skin. Otherwise, if you are prompted to save or choose to
Save the installation file, make sure you save it somewhere you can easily find it. Then
double-click on the .EXE file and follow the Installer prompts to install the skin. Once you
install a new skin, it becomes the default DFX skin for all the players. Simply restart DFX
and the newly installed skin will automatically be selected.
To design your own skin go to the Develop Skins page for instructions.
To delete a non-factory skin highlight the skin and click 'Delete'. Factory skins
cannot be deleted.
To exit without any change simply hit 'Cancel'.
-
Headphone Mode
Find out more details about this feature by reading the Headphone
component details.
To activate/deactivate 'Headphone Mode' simply highlight it from the Options drop-down
menu and click to check/uncheck the feature. Alternatively, the Speakers/Headphones toggle can
be used to switch between Speaker and Headphone modes.
