Opera is installed with a default setup for handling files transferred to your computer.
To add your own file types:
Action | Explanation |
---|---|
Show download dialog | Display multiple choice dialog on how to handle file |
Open with Opera | Opera can show text, markup languages, and images |
Save to disk |
|
Open with default application | Let your operating system (Windows) decide which program to use when opening files of file type |
Open with other application | Use a different application than the one your operating system is set to use by default |
Use plug-in | Use a plug-in to view the file |
Some servers may be incorrectly set up and tell you that a movie file is a plain text file. Try setting Opera to identify unreliable types by file extension to work around this.
Tip: Type in the Quickfind field to find the type you want to edit
Note: Be careful when editing file types. Opera depends on certain types in order to work properly.
