PhotoLine Tip 6: Set Your Text on Fire!

1. Start with a new image, for example 200 x 100 pixel in size, RGB color.

2. Make sure that your layers panel is open. If it's not open, select View/Layers. Then create a new layer, same size and type as background layer, select Layer/New Layer and press OK

3. Select the Vector Text tool from the tool bar (click on the Text icon an hold down the mouse key. Select the vector text from the popup.) and type your text at the tool options panel. Press Font to setup the size and style of your text, for example Arial 26 points. Click on Set to place the Text.

4. You can now place your text, but press Ctrl/Alt while dragging the text to avoid loosing the mask.
5. Select the Blend Tool from the tool bar.

6. Create a linear blend from black to yellow.

7. Place the blend on your image.

8. Now change the active layer to the background layer (click on the top layer at the layer panel)

9. Create a dark Red (R180, G0, B0) foreground color. And take a unsharp brush (about 7 pixels) to draw something like this:

To get this, take also a second color light Red (R255, G0, B0) and some yellow.

10. Now, click on the finger tool  in the toolbar, select a brush about 5 pixels and smear the fire to get something like this:
