Low Memory Accessors

These functions allow your application to obtain information stored in low-memory variables.

Note that you should always avoid using low-memory accessors if there are direct calls to obtain the same information. In general, don't think of the low-memory accessor routines as obtaining values from low memory, as was once the case. Think of them as providing operating system information that may be associated with a specific manager. In the future, Apple may supply new functions for retrieving this information.
