Assigning priorities to topics

You can manage and track the development of your project by assigning priorities to topics. This is a very useful feature if you are working with multiple authors. It's also useful if you are the sole author and you need a way to prioritize your work.

To assign a priority to a topic:

1. Click the Topics tab.

2. Select the topic(s). To select multiple topics, press and hold CTRL while you click each one.

3. Click Properties .

4. Click the Status tab.

5. In Priority, enter a number.

   It's up to you to determine the relationship between the priority and its number. For example, "1" could mean the topic is important and needs authoring right away, while "3" could mean the topic is less important.

6. Click OK. The priority is assigned to the topic. You will see this information when viewing the Project Status report for your project.

Notes: You can also change the status, track estimated hours or completed hours, enter your own comments, and assign To Do tasks to the topic at this dialog.
