This dialog opens when you start the Smart Index Wizard. Use it to set up your search for suggested keywords.
Find new and existing keywords: Suggests keywords based on topic content as well as existing index entries. The keywords suggested from topic content are based on the settings specified at the Options tab. For example, the Smart Index Wizard will suggest uppercase words, mixed case words, words not commonly found in the dictionary (such as scientific and technical terms) and long words which are commonly used with indexes.
Add existing keywords to topic(s): Suggests keywords based solely on keywords that are already in the index. When scanning topics for potential keywords, the Smart Index Wizard compares the content with existing keywords to provide suggestions. This option produces fewer suggested keywords but has the highest potential of suggesting usable keywords — provided that your index is fairly populated with keywords and keyword phrases.
Use custom search settings: Suggests keywords based solely on the search criteria specified at the Options tab.
Settings: Opens the Options tab for setting up search criteria to use for suggested keywords.
Note: Both the Find new and existing index entries and Use custom search settings options use search criteria specified at the Options tab.
Topic title and topic text: Searches both topic titles and topic content when suggesting keywords.
Topic title only: Only searches topic titles when suggesting keywords.
Include hotspot text: When searching content, includes text used as links (hotspots), in addition to body text.
Always Ignore: Opens the “Always Ignore” tab for modifying “noise” words contained in the Always Ignore Words file. The Smart Index Wizard does not suggest “noise” words as keywords.
Phrases: Opens the Phrases tab for modifying words and phrases contained in the Phrases file. The Smart Index Wizard suggests keywords based on the ones contained in the Phrases file.
Capitalize all new keywords: Capitalizes the first letter of all new keywords and keyword phrases. For example, Cheddar, Cheddar cheese.
Next: Goes to the second Smart Index Wizard screen for setting up further options. (Next only appears if you are Smart Indexing your entire project, not just an individual topic.)
Finish: Starts the index search.
