Creating image maps

After you add an image to a topic, you can create a hotspot for it. Together, the hotspot and its association with the image file, result in the creation of an image map.

To create a map file for an image:

  1. In the WYSIWYG Editor, right-click the image and select Insert Image Map.

  2. Select Rectangle, Circle, or Polygon and draw the clickable area. The Image Map dialog opens.

  3. Select the hotspot destination. When users click the hotspot area of the image map, the hotspot destination you select from this list opens.

  4. Select hotspots for each image map that you want to create.

  5. Click Save .

Tips:

  • The Project Manager saves the image map file in the Images folder.

  • A plus sign appears at the left side of the image file icon to indicate that it has an image map. Click the plus sign to see a list of all hotspots that are included in the image map file.

  • Hotspot links are denoted by a hotspot icon .
