Automatically creating browse sequences

To save time, you can automatically create browse sequences based on the books and pages in your table of contents. (For information about getting started with auto-creating browse sequences, see Tips for implementing browse sequences.)

WARNING! If you create browse sequences with the Browse Sequence Editor and then decide to auto-create browse sequences, the program will replace the older browse sequences with the new ones it auto-creates.

To automatically create browse sequences:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Browse Sequence Editor.

  1. Click TOC Order.

  2. Create a separate sequence for each book level: Enter a number based on how deep in your table of contents hierarchy you want browse sequences to be created.

Example:

  1. Click OK. The auto-created browse sequences are displayed in the Browse sequences list.

Notes:

  • Browse sequences are automatically listed in alphabetical order within the Browse sequence list.

  • When you auto-create browse sequences based on the table of contents, topics that point directly to a multimedia file are ignored. Topics that contain multimedia, however, will be included in any browse sequences you auto-create.
