Linking to bookmarks

You can link to specific areas in topics known as bookmarks. You need to create and save a bookmark before you can link to it.

To link to a bookmark:

  1. Select the text or object where you want to add the link. The topic can be the same one that contains the bookmark or a different one.

  2. Click Insert Hyperlink .

  3. Under Select Destination (File or URL), select the bookmark you want to link to.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click View to check your link.

Tips:

  • Bookmarks are always grouped with the topics they originate from (sorted alphabetically) and the bookmark name appears with a tag icon .

  • The Existing Topics list places bookmarks in alphabetical order below their corresponding topic. For example, if you have a topic called "Island Getaways," and it contains bookmarks for "Barbados" and "Bermuda," you will find the bookmarks under "Island Getaways." (They are not listed under topics starting with the letter B.)

  • If the bookmarks are not listed under the topic title and you just created them, you need to save the topic first and then select them in order to create the links.
