An antivirus is active when it has a permanent resident protection that constantly monitors all the operations carried out on the computer.

There are two ways of checking that this permanent protection is active; through an icon by the clock in the task bar, or in the antivirus program configuration.

Antivirus protection requires permanent file and e-mail protection.
