Quick Play Instructions

The basic concept of Xeno Assault is that you try to destroy as many aliens as possible whilst dodging their attacks against you. You do this by moving your ship around the screen and firing at them. Here is a list of controls needed to use your ship.

Mouse
Move the mouse in order to control your ship.
Left Click - Fire Primary Weapons
Right Click - Fire Bonus Weapons

Keyboard
Use the arrow keys in order to control your ship.
Space Bar - Fire Primary Weapons
Alt GR - Fire Bonus Weapons

Joystick / Gamepad
Use the gamepad arrows or move the joystick to steer your ship.
Button1 - Fire Primary Weapons
Button2 - Fire Bonus Weapons

1. Score
This is your score read out. You will be awarded score everytime you do something good, such as destroying an alien ship or getting a bonus. If you have a very high score you can post it to the online ranking chart. This is where players from all around the world post their scores to see who can get the highest. Its great fun :)

2.Stage
This is the stage you are on in the current mission.

3. Power Indicator
This bar indicates how much charge your beam lasers have. To charge your beam lasers you must not fire primary lasers. Once the bar is full pressing the primary fire button will fire your beam lasers.

4. Lives
This shows how many lives you have left. Every time you are hit and have no shields left you will lose a life. If you run out of lives the mission is failed and you are taken back to the menu.

5. Shields
This shows you how many shields you have left. Shields act a barrier that protects your precious lives. If you have one or more shields upon being hit you will lose a shield instead of losing a life. A very handy thing to have.

6. Special Weapon
This shows you what bonus weapon you currently have (if you have one) and how many charges you have left of that particular weapon. Whenever you lose a life or receive a new bonus weapons you will lose your old one.

7. Player Ship
This is the ship you control. You must try not to let it collide with any enemies or enemy weapons.

8. Alien Ships
You must try to destroy these, but don't let them collide with your ship!

9. Alien Weapons
Avoid these at all costs. They will damage your ship.

10. Powerups
To collect a powerup simply move your ship into it. Powerups are very useful, they can give you score, upgrade your primary weapons, give you an extra life and much much more.

A Note on Battle Frenzies
A battle frenzy will occur if you destroy a large number of aliens very quickly. If this happens you will get 500 point for every alien killed while the Battle Frenzy text is flashing!
