1. About !ADM - The Address Dial Manager

!ADM - The New Generation of Mobile Communication is here!!

The !AddressDialManager (!ADM) enables you to activate phone calls on your mobile phone automatically and "touch-free" via your Palm device. The !ADM connects your mobile phone to your Palm device via Infrared interface, therefore allowing wireless dialing and phone connections. All you need is PalmOS® 3.1 or higher, a mobile phone with IrDA-Interface and, of course, the !ADM.

This demo version is contains the same full functionality of the registered product, except a little delay of about 10 seconds before dialing.

2. Installing !ADM

To install !ADM, just HotSync the following files to your handheld:

HotSyncing an application or hack to your Palm®-device as simple as starting a programm on your PC. Just double-click the PRC-File you want to install to move it into the HotSync-Buffer. During the next HotSync the application will be installed on your Palm®-device.

!ADM - The Address Dial Manager is a system extension. It is not an application, and cannot be run alone. To install it, you first need to install an extension manager like X-Master, HackMaster or other system extension managers.

We recommend that you use X-Master, a powerful, compatible and free replacement for HackMaster. In addition to being fully compatible with HackMaster, X-Master has been designed to run on all version of PalmOS (even the most recent) and provides improved and easier user-interface to manage hacks (the casual name for system extensions).

X-Master Web Site: http://linkesoft.com/english/xmaster/ (please point your browser to http://www.linkesoft.com/ for Japanese and other languages localized versions of X-Master).

HackMaster Web Site: http://www.daggerware.com/hackmstr.htm

You can also download X-Master from many Palm-oriented web sites. Most web sites providing software for your Palm handheld also offer X-Master.

Note: you can run your system extension manager of choice, be it X-Master, HackMaster, TealMaster, EVPlugBase, etc. In this manual, we will refer to X-Master as your system extensions manager as it is included in this package.

3. Using !ADM

Once you have installed X-Master and !ADM - The Address Dial Manager, start the X-Master application. You will see a list of installed hacks, including !ADM. On the left, a checkbox lets you activate or deactivate !ADM - The Address Dial Manager.

Once you have activated !ADM, you can select a phone number in a text field (e.g. in the address application) and on a stroke from the application to the calculator button on your silk screen the dial process commences.

On the other hand, you can copy a number from almost any application (e.g. your mail client) to the clipboard, and on a stroke from the calculator to the application button on your silk screen the dial process again will commence.

4. Compatibility with other hacks

!ADM - The Address Dial Manager is fully compatible with all other system extensions.

X-Master also offers a specific dialog to manage the chains of system extensions and the order in which these extensions are called. It is the List All Active item in the Extensions menu. This option lists all system functions that are modified and the system extensions that modify them. You'll see if there are several extensions modifying the same system function.

Learn to use X-Master, it will be very helpful when you have to troubleshoot a potential conflict between system extensions.
