In this lesson, you learn how to publish your brochure to one of three different mediums. You can print a copy of the brochure to your desktop printer, prepare it for printing at a service bureau, or publish it to the Internet.

You can change the size of the document for your print job only, leaving the original image unaffected.

  1. Click File menu, Print
  2. Click the Layout tab.
  3. Enable the Reposition Images To button.
  4. Type a value in the Width Scale Factor box.

Next, apply these changes to your drawing, and close the Print dialog box so that you can advance to the next page of instruction in this lesson. Normally, this step is not necessary.

  1. Click the Apply button.
  2. Click Cancel.

You can choose the tile option to print an image that is larger than the paper on which it is being printed.

  1. Click File menu, Print.
  2. Click the Layout tab.
  3. Enable the Print Tiled Pages check box.
  4. In the Tile Overlap box, type 0.25 to have the tiles overlap by a quarter of an inch.
  5. From the Imposition Layout list box, choose 2 x 1 (2-up).
  6. Click Yes.
  7. Click the Apply button.
  8. Click Cancel.

Next, you can preview the print job.

Click File menu, Print Preview.

Click File menu, Close Print Preview to return to the Drawing Window.

When you use a bleed to extend the print job to the edge of the page, you should set a bleed limit.

  1. Click File menu, Print.
  2. Click the Layout tab.
  3. Enable the Bleed Limit check box.
  4. Type a bleed limit in the Bleed Limit box.
  5. Click the Apply button.
  6. Click Cancel.

Next, you can set the crop marks that represent the size of the paper. These marks are used by the printer as guidelines for trimming the paper.

  1. Click File menu, Print.
  2. Click the Prepress tab.
  3. Enable the Crop/Fold Marks check box.
  4. Click the Apply button.
  5. Click Cancel.

You can set registration marks to print on each sheet of paper. Registration marks allow the service bureau to line up the printing plates on a color press or proofing system. You can also set color calibration bars to print on each sheet of paper. Color calibration bars are required to ensure accurate color reproduction.

  1. Click File menu, Print.
  2. Click the Prepress tab.
  3. Enable the Print Registration Marks check box.
  4. From the Style picker, choose a style.
  5. Enable the Color Calibration Bar check box.
  6. Click the Apply button.
  7. Click Cancel.


You can include a job information sheet when you send your project to a service bureau.

  1. Click File menu, Print.
  2. Click the Misc tab.
  3. Enable the Print Job Information Sheet check box.
  4. Click the Info Settings button.
  5. In the Print Job Information dialog box, enable the check boxes that correspond to the categories of information that you want to include.
  6. In the Destination section, enable the Send To Text File check box.
  7. Enable the Send To Printer check box to create both types of output.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Print.

You can choose the folders in which the HTML file and images are saved. You can also choose options to export images into a Web document.

  1. Click File menu, Publish To Internet.
  2. Click the Use Internet Dialog button.
  3. From the HTML Layout list box, choose HTML Table (most compatible).
  4. From the HTML Folder list box, choose the folder in which you want to save the published brochure.
  5. If you want to save the images in a different folder, disable the Use HTML Name check box, and type the name of the folder in which you want to save the images in the Image Folder box.
  6. Click the Options button, and click Image in the list of categories.
  7. Enable the GIF button.
  8. Choose the options you want to use to export the images in your Web document.
  9. On the left side of the Options dialog box, choose Text in the list of categories.
  10. Enable the Export All Text As Images button.
  11. Click OK.
  12. In the Publish To Internet dialog box, click the Title (Page Name) box, and type the name of the brochure.
  13. Click OK.
