Making Rugs With HomeMaster 3.0 Tutorial.
To make a carpet out of a bitmap
- Find a picture you want to use for a carpet. In this tutorial we will be using a Persian rug. Seen here:

- First we need to cut out the extra white edges like so:

- Then we need to change it to a size that can be cut into floor tile sizes. HomeMaster 3.0 prefers floor tile images in a 64 x 64 pixel size, so we just need to adjust the image to those measurements. Hmmm, look like the rug is roughly a 3x4 ratio. So, 64 x 3 = 192 and 64 x 4 =256. The new image size needs to be 192 x 256 pixels then like so:

- Now its time to cut up the image. Its ready to be cut into 64x64 size chunks. Use your image editing program to create a marque you can place down on the image to copy and paste. Place it in the top corner and copy the first 64x64 piece into a new image:
those chunks become these files:

.
To keep track of which image is which, its best to use a cartesian numbering system and name them by their grid numbers. Hence those three files are named PersianA1, PersianA2 and Persian A3.
- Save these files into your HomeMaster folder.
- When you are finished cutting up your image it is time to see it in HomeMaster3.0.
- Open HomeMaster and click on the floor tool.

The texture should be a blank brown color.
- Make sure you are at the bottom of the texture list by clicking the down texture button.

- Hit the load texture button.

- Find the PersianA1 texture bitmap you created and click the open button. This will load the texture into HomeMaster.
- You may now click on the floor and see the first part of the carpet.

- THE NEXT STEP IS CRUCIAL. YOU MUST HIT THE UP TEXTURE BUTTON TO MAKE ROOM FOR A NEW TEXTURE.

- Continue to load each texture, make room for a new texture and then load the next texture until all of the Persian floor textures are loaded.
- Then hit the save button. Make sure you have "save all floors" checked and save it as a memorable name. In this case I named it PersianA1.flr.
- Now whenever you start HomeMaster, all you need to do is load PersianA1.flr, instead of each texture, and ALL the Persian rug floor tiles will load at once.
The premade rug and mural sets included are :
DontTreadA1.flr, NavajoA1.flr, persianA1.flr, Rivera.wll, and Guernica.wll
**NOTE** You can do this exact same process for Murals by making sure to cut the picture up into 128x240 pixel size pieces.
