Editing text

You can use most common word-processing techniques to edit text in Flash. You can use the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands to move type within a Flash file as well as between Flash and other applications.

To edit text:

Do one of the following:

With the text tool, click inside a type block or drag over type to highlight characters.
With the arrow tool, double-click a type block.


 
Selecting text

When editing text or changing type attributes, you must first select the characters you want to change.

To select characters within a type block:

1 Select the text tool and click a type block to place the cursor.
2 Do one of the following:
Drag to select characters.
Double-click to select a word.
Click to specify the beginning of the selection and Shift-click to specify the end of the selection.
Press Ctrl+A (Windows) or Command+A (Macintosh) to select all the characters in the block.

To select type blocks:

Select the arrow tool and click a type block. Shift-click to select multiple type blocks.
