TROUBLESHOOTING
Direct3D
issues
Championship
Surfer requires DirectX 7 or later to run. Please make sure that you have
installed DirectX 7 from your game CD before running this game.
If
you experience any problems with the game, such as crashes when starting up or
when setting the resolution, or incorrect textures or abnormally slow
performance, you may need to update the drivers for your video card.
If
you have more than one 3D accelerator in your PC, make sure that you select the
correct driver in the Configuration Utility.
Tested Video Cards
Championship Surfer is a fully 3D game, and therefore requires a 3D accelerator to run.
Video cards that have been tested and verified as compatible are as follows:
nVidia - TNT, TNT2, TNT2 M64, TNT2 Ultra, Geforce 256, Geforce 2 and GeForce 2 MX
3dfx - Voodoo1, Voodoo2, Voodoo 3 3000/3500, Voodoo 5/5500
Matrox - G200/G400
ATI Rage Pro
S3 Savage 3/4
Intel i740
Sound
issues
There
are no known sound issues with the game. If you experience anomalies with audio,
it will more than likely be a sound card driver problem. Download the latest
DirectX 7 drivers for your card from your sound card manufacturer.
Control issues
Certain
PC keyboards experience problems when attempting to decipher combinations of
three or more simultaneously pressed keys. If this happens, try configuring a
different keyboard layout in Settings/Controls.
Performance
The
minimum specifications for running Championship Surfer are:
Windows
95/98/2000
DirectX
7.0 or greater
Pentium
II 233Mhz or greater (PII 400Mhz recommended)
32
Mb of memory
140Mb
of Hard Disk space for the Demo
Windows
Media Player 6.4 or higher
4x
CDROM or faster
3D
Accelerated Video Card with 4Mb RAM (Voodoo 1 or better)
DirectX
compatible Sound Card
Windows
compatible Mouse
On
these lower spec machines, performance will be degraded if attempting to use
settings that exceed your machine’s capability.
Some
tips for speeding things up if you are experiencing boggy performance:
Disable
Mip Mapping
Disable
Overlay Textures
Run
the game in a lower resolution
Disable
sound and music
Make
sure that you have the latest drivers for your hardware

distribute printed copies of any user documentation provided in electronic
format.
·
You

The restrictions contained
herein apply equally to hybrid CD-ROMs which may contain multiple versions of
the Software for use on different operating systems.
Regardless of the type of media you receive, you may use only the portion
appropriate for your single-user computer/workstation. In the event you fail to
comply with any of the terms or conditions of this license, your rights to use
the Software will end, you shall stop using the Software, remove the Software
from your computer, and permanently erase all copies of the Software. You may
not export or reexport the Software or any underlying information or technology
except in full compliance with all United States and other applicable laws and
regulations.
limited
warranty
LIMITED
WARRANTY. Mattel and its suppliers
and licensors warrant to the original installer of the Software, for a period of
ninety (90) days from the date of purchase, that the media on which the Software
is distributed is substantially free from defects in materials and workmanship. Any
and all other implied warranties with respect to the Software and the

Software, provided that the defective Software is returned to Mattel (at Mattel
Interactive, 2850 Earhart Court, Hebron, KY 41048. Telephone: (319) 378-7319)
along with proof of the date of purchase within ninety (90) days from the date
of purchase. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the Software has
resulted from accident, abuse, neglect or misapplication. Any replacement
Software will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or
thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. Except as set forth above, the Software
is sold “as-is”, without any express or implied warranties of any kind.
LIMITATION

no event will Mattel OR its suppliers and licensors be liable for any indirect,
special, incidental, economic, cover, consequential, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE
damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software, user
documentation, or related technical support, including, without limitation,
damages or costs relating to the loss of profits, business, goodwill, data, time
or computer programs, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will Mattel’S AND its suppliers’ and licensors’
liability exceed the amount paid by you for the Software regardless of the form
of the claim (including, without limitation, any contract, product liability, or
tort claim). Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may
not apply to you.
miscellaneous
