    Installation
    1. Installing SurfSaver is a straight-forward process. Run the SurfSaver .EXE file you download from the Internet, or (if you receive SurfSaver on CD ROM) place the CD in your drive and run the SETUP program.
    2. Follow the instructions on your screen.

    Starting SurfSaver

You activate SurfSaver directly from your browser (either Internet Explorer or Netscape).

    1.       For Internet Explorer Users:
Start SurfSaver by clicking on the SurfSaver button in the IE toolbar (if the button does not appear choose VIEW - EXPLORER BAR - SURFSAVER). This will open the SurfSaver Explorer bar. Alternatively, you can place the mouse cursor anywhere on the Web page in your browser and press the RIGHT mouse button. A popup menu will appear containing the SurfSaver menu commands (Save, QuickSave and Search).

    2.       For Netscape Users:
Start SurfSaver by clicking the SurfSaver button in the Netscape personal toolbar. Alternatively, you can choose Bookmarks and select a SurfSaver  menu command.

    Saving Web Pages
    1. Display the Web page you wish to save in your browser.

    2.       Start SurfSaver and choose the "SurfSaver Save" menu command.

                The SurfSaver Save dialog appears.

    1. You can modify the title for the page, add keywords, and add notes. There is also an option which lets you saved all pages linked to the page. You can even save multiple levels of a Web site.
    2. Choose OK to save the Web page (or multiple pages).
    3. Repeat the Save process for each page you wish to save.

NOTE: You can save all your Web pages in a single folder, or you can create multiple folders and group pages in different folders. For example, if you were collecting competitive product information, you could have a separate folder for each competitive product. See the "Save Dialog" for details on folders.

    Searching

You start a SurfSaver search from your browser:

    1.       Start SurfSaver and choose the "SurfSaver Search" menu command.

                The SurfSaver Search dialog appears.

    1. Select the folder (or folders) you wish to search, and then enter your search request. Choose the SEARCH button to start the search.
    2. NOTE: If you wish to view all the pages in a folder (or folders), choose the LIST ALL button.

Your browser screen will split. The bottom part of the screen displays the titles of the pages that match your search request.

    1. Click on the title of the page you want to view. It will appear in the top part of the browser screen.

    Exiting SurfSaver
    1. You can exit SurfSaver the way you would exit any Web page -- by simply going to another page (URL). You can type the URL in the location line of your browser, go to a bookmark, or choose the Home button in your browser. In addition, you can exit SurfSaver by choosing the CLOSE button in the Search Results window or closing your browser.
