Floppy Device Setting

This panel is used to configure a floppy drive for the virtual machine.

A floppy drive can only be used by the host operating system or one guest operating system at a time. Access to a floppy drive can be enabled and disabled while a virtual machine is running by using the Settings > Removable Devices menu.

Many laptop computers have removable floppy disk drives. The configuration wizard can still configure a floppy drive for the virtual machine, even if the floppy drive is currently physically detached from the computer. If the floppy drive is likely to be physically detached from the computer then the Start Connected check box should be be unchecked. This prevents the virtual machine from hanging at Power On for a period of time trying to access the floppy drive. A floppy drive can be attached or detached to a running virtual machine by using the Settings > Removable Devices menu.

Only one floppy drive can be configured using the configuration wizard. If necessary, the configuration editor can be used to add floppy drives later.
