Automaticity Help
Information:
Automaticity is a windows
journaling/recording program. You can record actions (mouse movements and
clicks and keystrokes) to a file which can be played back later to repeat the actions.
The program is freeware, anyone can use this software
for any purpose, including commercial applications. This software is provided 'as-is', without
any express or implied warranty. In no event will the author be held liable for
any damages arising from the use of this software.
Usage:
When you start Automaticity you will see three tabs, the record tab, the playback tab, and an about tab.
The record tab is where you
can set options and record your actions to a file.
- The File to Record To specifies the
name of the file where the actions you record will be saved to.
- Choose Playback Speed is where you can set the speed your actions will be played back. Realtime is usually the best choice. Other options are Slow and Fast. Slow could make your recordings more reliable at the expense of taking longer to run.
- Fast Text Playback if enabled will cause the keystrokes you record
to be played back without delay, most of the time you can enable this
without problems to speed up playback.
- The Create Start Menu Shortcut and Create Desktop Shortcut options
give you the ability to create specific shortcuts to your recordings so you
can start playback directly, without starting the Automaticity program first.
- The Program/Website to open before
recording/playback option allows you to have a specific
program or website open at the beginning of your recording.
- You can start/stop recording after all your
options are set using the button, or the “Ctrl-1” and “Ctrl-2” key
combinations.
The playback tab is where you can access your recordings to play them back. An easier way to playback a recording is with the Desktop/Start menu shortcuts Automaticity can create for you. This allows your recordings to be played back without first starting Automaticity.
To cancel playback of a recording you can use the key combination "Ctrl-Esc".
