MediaMan Theme Mechanism

MediaMan theme utilizes state-of-the-art graphics technologies to paint and simulate a visually pleasant digital shelf. The painting process relies on the "Group" field of each item and the theme package file. The "Group" field is a new feature introduced in MediaMan 1.6, previously known as "catalog". Usually, if the item was retrieved from Amazon, it'll be automatically filled with corresponding values. Common values are "Book", "DVD", "Music". The theme package file defines the look of the virtual shelf by means of this value. The default theme package defines the look for only these three groups ("Book", "DVD", "Music").

Therefore, for optimal use of virtual shelf, you are suggested to fill in the group field with either of the three values. You can use the collection update wizard to do a batch update, or to update from Amazon.

Amazon E-Commerce System

MediaMan relies on Amazon E-Commerce System 4.0, which is a part of the Amazon Web Service program, to retrieve product information and pictures. All Amazon International stores, including Amazon United States, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Canada and France are supported, use the MediaMan Options dialog to configure your default store.
