The Filter
The filter is processed in the same display area, in which also the oscillators are edited. For the filter the following adjustments are possible:

parameter | Range | Explanation |
Filtertype | LP6...24 | The filter can act as Low-Pass(LP), High-Pass (HP) or Band-Pass filter (BP) with 6 (1st order), 12 (2nd order) and 24 (4th order). Filters of a higher order operate "harder" and cut the frequency band more sharply, while e.g. a 6dB filter changes the sound very gently. |
Cutoff | 20...20.000 Hz | The filter
frequency within the area of the human hearing scope, a
low-pass filter with a cut off frequency of 20.000 Hz
hardly changes the sound, while a high-pass filter of
20.000 cycles per second lets practically no more
oscillation be noticeable. Attention: The filter envelope always covers the range between the selected cutoff frequency and 20.000 Hz. If you i.e. choose 2000 Hz cutoff then an envelope level of 0 represents 2000 Hz, an envelope level of 100 represents 20.000 Hz (as always). So the cutoff parameter determines the possible depth of the filter envelope modulation. |
Resonance | 0...100 | Accentuation of the frequency around the filter frequency. |
