Rupsta gamma and alpha Short Reference

Thank you! We are pleased that you decided for Rupsta gamma or alpha. This short reference may guide you through the first steps with your new drum sampler. Some steps (4, 11..14) are not applicabe to Rupsta alpha.

1. Click on the power switch to switch Rupsta on. 2. Select an instrument by clicking on the instrument name. 3. Load a WAV-File by clicking on the file name field. 4. You can trigger the instruments by clicking its pad. The pad is lit while the sound is being played. 5. You may want to give your instrument a descriptive name here.
6. Now play it via MIDI, use a prerecorded sequence or play via masterkeyboard or drum pads. You may need to adjust the MIDI note here.

7. Now adjust level and paning by using the sliders "Pan" and "Level". Use ALT-mouseclick to change the values slightly.

8. If you prefere to send the instruments output to one of the six seperate outs, you can do so by depressing the stereo button and selecting one of the mono outs as shown.

9. Ok, lets tweak it now, you can start changing the sound by playing with the 4 octave (alpha: 1 octave) ranging "Tune" parameter. Use ALT-mouseclick to change the value step by step.

10. Before comming to the main area be told that it changes to the parameters of an instrument whenever you select one.

11.You may additionally form the sound with the pitch envelope. The envelope has the parameters attack, hold and decay. Set a depth of one octave (12) and start with the shown slider positions. Gain experience by moving the sliders starting from the rigth (the decay slider). 12. Now do the same with the amplitude envelope section. Remind that you cannot set up a hard attack for a sound with a soft. But you can adjust the attack in the full range for a sound with hard attack. 13. Now instert some more samples into Rupsta and start making music. If you want to unload a sound use the red "Unl"oad button by pressing it twice. The "Vel" button is for switching velocity sensivity on or off for a single instrument. 14. When adjusting a drum set you'll find it convenient to "mute" single instruments or listen only to the one you adjust by using the "solo" switch. 15. You can use the Choke-Button to mute the previous instrument whenever the instrument is played (i.e. Close HiHat will mute the Open HiHat)
