Managing Folders and Objects

The image archive is a sophisticated organizational tool for your picture collections with a wide variety of management functions.

Adding New Images

Finding Images

To locate an image by name or descriptor values, click the Search button on the folder pane.

Moving Images

To move images between archive folders, simply open a second folder view using one of several techniques:

Then click on any images and drag them between folders.

Copying Images

To create a copy of an image, choose Create a Copy from its context menu. Copying an image allows you to define different cut-out areas or apply other image tools against different variations of the same image.

Sorting Images

New images are inserted at the proper location for the sort criteria that has been defined.

If no sort criteria has been defined, then the location can be controlled by the user. If a new image is dropped on a closed folder, it will be appended at the bottom. If a new image is dragged on the workspace, it will be inserted where it was dropped.

Creating Image Shortcuts

Some images could logically belong to more than one folder. An image shortcut allows you to include references to the same image in any number of other folders.

Deleting Workspace Objects

To irreversibly delete folders, images, copies or shortcuts, drag the respective object to the trashcan.

Additional Functions

A list of other functions can be viewed by clicking the right mouse button on a folder, on a workspace object or on the workspace background. The respective context menu will open. Then press the F1 button on your keyboard to view the appropriate section of the Reference Guide.
