Image Archive Preferences

Image Archive Preferences control how new images are stored, whether they were added to the Image Archive or placed directly on a page.

Note: Changing the preferences does not effect existing images.

Max. Image Size)

StudioLine stores images in the best possible quality. Images in print quality require large amounts of disk space and would significantly slow down image processing. Since most web pages are designed for limited screen sizes, there is little benefit in storing images with unnecessary high resolutions.

This setting defines the maximum size (in megapixels) for an image. Larger images will be resized accordingly. Smaller images are not effected.

This setting is also used for exported images.

Note: Images pasted from the system clipboard are not resized, to avoid loss of detail of screen shots. PhotoShop files are left untouched, to avoid inconsistent scaling of different layers.

Tolerance (in %)

If an image is within the specified tolerance of the Max. Image Size, it will not be scaled to avoid unnecessary generation loss of JPEG images.

When source image is larger:

If an image size is outside the tolerance, it would have to be scaled to accommodate the Max. Image Size.

This settings defines, whether StudioLine will scale the image automatically or whether the user is prompted to either permit automatic scaling or to leave the image in its the original size.

Max. Preview Dimensions

When an image is added to the Image Archive, a smaller preview version is created.

This setting defines the default maximum height and width (in pixels) with which the image will be previewed in Image Archive mode. Smaller images will be previewed in their original size. The preview dimensions have no effect on the processing of images for pages or Layouts.
